MILAN – The Milan Soccer School season is coming to a close with the start of the BPM Milan Cup 2015.
There was great enthusiasm yesterday at Casa Milan when Riccardo Montolivo arrived for the launch. The captain posed for photos and signed autographs for the gathered youngsters at the end of the launch.
There will be 1,800 youngsters involved over the three days of celebrations in an exciting tournament to end the 2014-15 season which will run from Friday to Sunday.
There will be 96 teams involved in six categories representing 86 Milan Soccer Schools in Milan.
The opening ceremony will take place at Casa Milan at 22.30 with the families and players involved where they will have the chance to visit the museum, the shop and the restaurant.
On Friday, 12 June, the Vismara sports centre will host a representation of children who participated in the project Play for change promoted by ActionAid in collaboration with AC Milan.
Play for Change aims to combat social exclusion and gender discrimination. The project was carried out in primary schools in four Italian cities – Milan, Naples, Bari and Messina, involving more than 1,000 children who have had the opportunity to participate in psychomotor educational courses overseen by Milan coaches to improve the ability of teamwork, respect for others and for the rules.
At the tournament, 27 boys and girls between 8 and 11 years old, will compete in an afternoon of games specially prepared for them by the Rossoneri coaches who followed them throughout the school year that has just ended.
There are other events planned which will focus on the promotion of sports culture amongst youngsters, parents and coaches.
The BPM Milan Cup is a special opportunity to experience sport as a party, as a moment of joy, passion and emotion.
