DUBAI- Milan defeated Real Madrid 4-2 on Tuesday evening in a friendly fixture in Dubai. The rossoneri raced into a two goal lead within the opening 30 minutes thanks to goals from Menez and El Shaarawy before Ronaldo pulled one back before half-time. Soon after the restart, Milan managed to restore their two goal cushion after El Shaarawy got his second goal of the match. Pazzini then extended the rossoneri’s lead with just over 15 minutes to go while Benzema cut the gap from the penalty spot on 84 minutes for a final score of 4-2 in favour of Milan. The match at the Sevens Stadium brought together two of the biggest club sides in world football. Between them, Milan and Real Madrid have won a total of 36 international trophies. The rossoneri made a promising start to the match enjoying plenty of the possession and on 13 minutes Riccardo Montolivo played an excellent ball into the box for Bonaventura, but Varane was there to block the danger. It seemed to spark Real Madrid into life and they then went straight up the other end, although Diego Lopez did well to come off his line and thwart an effort from Hernandez.Milan kept organised and solid at the back and soon got their chance to take the lead. Jeremy Menez did brilliantly to read Nacho’s backpass, taking full advantage to break the deadlock with a very cool finish past Keylor Navas. It wasn’t long before the rossoneri scored again and on the half hour mark Stephan El Shaarawy made it 2-0. The Italian forward received a pass from Bonaventura and then cut inside from the left before striking the ball past Keylor Navas at the near post.Cristiano Ronaldo pulled a goal back for Real Madrid although Milan very nearly restored their two goal cushion before the half-time whistle through Montolivo. The skipper received the ball on the edge of the area and forced the Real Madrid shot-stopper into a good save with an angled drive. At half-time head coach Filippo Inzaghi made plenty of changes to give other members of the squad some playing time bringing on Alex, Zaccardo, Armero, Poli, Essien and Pazzini. Despite the wholesale changes, it didn’t stop Milan from making an aggressive start to the second half and Essien tried his luck right away with a long range effort. Minutes later and El Shaarawy restored Milan’s two goal cushion. The little pharaoh combined brilliantly with Andrea Poli and then slotted the ball into the back of the net from close range on 48 minutes to complete his brace. With a 2 goal deficit to try and cut back, Real inevitably began to push forward and the European and World Champions hit the post through Jesé while Benzema blazed the follow-up effort off target. Alex then performed a perfectly timed challenge to take the ball away from Benzema just before the French international was about to pull the trigger from a very dangerous position. On 58 minutes Inzaghi decided to make a double change, taking off Diego Lopez for Michael Agazzi and also bringing on Niang for Bonaventura. Agazzi had only been on the pitch a matter of minutes but the Italian shot-stopper was called straight into action making a very good block from a fierce effort from Gareth Bale. After netting a brace El Shaaraway was taken off with just over 20 minutes left to play and Saponara came on in his place. The rossoneri extended their lead on 73 minutes thanks to Giampaolo Pazzini after the Italian striker managed to connect with Niang’s superb cross to head the ball past Casillas for a 4-1 lead.Teenage talent Hachim Mastour came off the bench for Muntari before Benzema cut the gap from the penalty spot on 84 minutes for Real Madrid. This is how the two sides lined-up at the start of the match:MILAN: Diego Lopez, Bonera, Mexes, Zapata, Albertazzi, Montolivo, De Jong, Muntari, Bonaventura, Menez, El ShaarawyREAL MADRID: Keylor Navas; Arbeloa, Varane, Nacho, Coentrao; Isco, Khedira, Illaramendi; Jesé, Hernandez, Cristiano Ronaldo
