The Milan goalkeeper, Diego Lopez, was delighted to meet the Chinese fans. He said: "There are so many Milan fans in China, it is great to be here. The coach came in with a real desire to win, we all know it is an important year for Milan and we have to do well."
The striker Mbaye Niang, who spent last season on loan at Genoa, is looking forward to fighting for his place in the starting line-up. "Playing in a derby is always good, let's hope we win. There are a lot of us in attack, there is a lot of competition but I am ready to work hard and win my place. This is pre-season, we are trying to do what we learn in training. I am sure we will do good things in the next few games."Giacomo Bonaventura spoke about Mihajlovic's methods on the training ground. He said:
"We still haven't seen him strike a free kick but we remember how he used to hit them. He was one of the best in the history of the game. Let's hope he can hand down some tips to us. He is a great professional, he has brought an eexcellent mentality to the group, a winning mentality. I think he can take us very far. He is very well prepared under every aspect of the game. We still don't know him very well but he is a very serious person." After renewing his contract Ignazio Abate says he would like to end his career with the rossoneri:
"I have been lucky enought to extend my contract with Milan, my intention is to end my career at Milan, although you never know in football. My aim is to finish here where I grew up. My wife is from Puglia so we got married near where she is from. My children will decide what is best for them, if they become footballers then I will be excited but they are free to choose their own path. Physically I am feeling better, yesterday I started running and I am following a program. We will see day by day. I hope I will be able to play a few minutes against Real Madrid."
