The youth team play their first match of the competition today.

MILAN – The Rossoneri youth team take on Ascoli later today at the Viareggio Cup. The meeting will mark the first time that the two sides go head to head at the prestigious youth competition. Here is how the two youth outfits go into the match:

The Rossoneri have always found the back of the net from their past 7 games at the competition, for a total of 15 goals. The last time Milan fired a blank was in the final in 2013 when Anderlecht ran out 3-0 winners.

Ascoli meanwhile have taken part at five editions of the youth tournament, registering 8 wins, 5 draws and 6 defeats from 19 matches in total. Ascoli have fired in 18 goals and shipped the same amount. In 2003 and 2008, Ascoli reached the quarter-finals which marks their best ever finish at the competition. In 2003, they fell to Juventus and in 2008 they lost to Vicenza.
