MILAN – As we edge closer to Sunday’s Serie A clash Milan-Atalanta, here are some stats and facts to whet the appetite.Agazzi, Bonaventura, Pazzini and Montolivo aren’t the only players to have played for Atalanta. Alessio Cerci (in the 2008/09 season – 14 appearances and no goals scored) and Filippo Inzaghi (1996/97 season – 34 appearances and 25 goals) also have an Atalanta past.The rossoneri’s biggest win against Atalanta came on the 15th of October 1972, 9-3 at the San Siro, in a Serie A match. The match also represents a league record for the most goals scored in a Serie A match since it became a single league format. The first half ended 4-1 with Prati (16’), Bigon (30’), Rivera (35’) and Benetti (40’) all on the score-sheet for the rossoneri. Atalanta’s goal was scored by Divina (33’). In the second half Milan’s remaining 5 goals came from Chiarugi (50’), Rivera (52’), Prati (55’), Bigon (64’) and Prati (90’). The Bergamaschi found the back of the net through Ghio (54’) and Carelli (88’).In 2003 meanwhile the fixture also delivered plenty of goals finishing 3-3. Filippo Inzaghi scored a brace and Tomasson scored the other for Milan. Rossini scored twice for Atalanta while Maldini scored an own-goal. The drama didn’t end there as Rivaldo missed from the penalty spot. Since then there have been 6 wins for Milan and 2 for Atalanta.
