POST-MATCH REACTION

MILAN- The interviews from the coaching staff and the players following 10-man Milan’s 1-1 draw against Torino at the Olimpico:
ASSISTANT COACH MAURO TASSOTTI"It wasn’t a brilliant match and we’re not happy, especially with how we played in the first-half. The match started well and we scored thanks to something we had prepared beforehand. Once we went down to 10 men, it was all up-hill and we weren’t able to hold on. In 10 men it was a tough match. In 10 men you need courage and strength. Perhaps we were missing the strength to push up. We now have to work. We play on Tuesday (in the Italian Cup, editor’s note) and then against Atalanta. It’s one of those moments. We could have made a big step forward and instead we find ourselves with 1 point from 2 matches."
IGNAZIO ABATE"We didn’t hold on to the lead and Torino deserved a point. We didn’t play well. We must do more, we’re missing something mentally. After taking the lead in the past two matches, we should have wrapped up the wins. At these grounds you struggle if you don’t have the right mentality. We must improve on this. Against Sassuolo we also started well. We’re the ones who give confidence to our opponents. We’re not able to kill off matches and all of this means we’re unable to bring home the 3 points. We have to be very honest. We can do more. The fans are right. On Tuesday we have an important goal and we must give a sign. It’s a big test and we have to win."
ADIL RAMI"I think that we could have come away with the 3 points. We have to work more on dead ball situations. We tried to play in 10 men, but it was complicated. It was hard to play the whole second half in ten-men. They understood that we were in difficulty and they pressed us more. The upcoming matches are like finals, we have to work and play with heart."
PABLO ARMERO"I thank all of my team-mates for their belief in me. I am trying to give a hand to the side and we must give more in every match. It was a hard match. We drew, but we know we’re a good team and that we must improve. We’re missing something in attack, but we have to think positive and move forwards. It’s important that the fans support us in the next 2 matches that we’re going to play at the San Siro."
COACH FILIPPO INZAGHI (press conference)"We started well, we pressed Torino high-up. We should have made it 2-0. Once we started to suffer their counter-attacks, we dropped back a bit too much. Then, we went down to 10 men and from then on I cannot blame the players for anything. We conceded a goal from a dead ball situation and when you concede from a corner kick it is never a positive thing. Every match is important to us and it’s positive that we’re going to be playing again right away. We have the chance to be the Milan side that competed with the best such as Napoli and Roma. I don’t know the reasons why, we’re not the same side as we were before the winter break. I only know one way to get back on track: work. The spirit is good, as otherwise we wouldn’t be able to defend for 50 minutes without running big risks in defence. I put Alex on to defend from set pieces, but unfortunately it didn’t work."
