ON THE RIGHT TRACK

MILAN- All the post-match reaction after Milan’s 2-0 victory over Cesena:
FILIPPO INZAGHI (to the Milan Channel)"We played well today, but we know there is still a long way to go. We have to continue on this path. A positive result gives us more self-confidence, but we must improve and we know that. The team played very well in the first 30 minutes, perhaps we could have been 2-0 up. Bonaventura can play in any role, he did very well playing in support of the two strikers and was always there and involved in the heart of the action, even in defence. We have to be consistent now in our results. Pazzini is one of those players that you are sorry to leave out. He knows of my respect. I always try and give him the chance to play when I can. Bocchetti had a great game. I am sorry that I could only bring Cerci on 5 minutes from the end, but the third change can only be made from the 85th minute onwards because you never know what can happen. Mexes will now come back and we hope to recover Paletta. It will be a hard match against Chievo. We’re Milan and with this attitude and confidence we can get back on track."
RICCARDO MONTOLIVO "Apart from the result, I think the team should be complimented for a solid display. I think it is a deserved victory, let’s continue like this. We did drop off slightly in the second half, but we did not give away many chances. I think it is a positive day for everyone. We still need a bit of time and many matches before saying the team has re-found its identity and come out of this situation. It is certainly harder than I thought to come back from a long injury. I am working to reach peak fitness. We needed a win and it allows us to be a bit calmer. Pazzini did really well and when he came on he gave his all".
GIAMPAOLO PAZZINI"I am really happy. I didn’t strike the penalty very well, but the main thing is that the ball went in. I needed some confidence and enthusiasm. I had such a desire to play, I always try and give my very all. The goal today makes me want to score more and I am very pleased. Scoring helps you see things with a lot more optimism. I am the penalty taker if Jeremy isn’t on the pitch. The club and the fans have always made me feel important. When you receive affection, you always want to show what you can do. We did struggle today to create chances, that is true, but it isn’t easy though, especially as opponents close themselves up when they come to the San Siro. I am a player that needs the help of the team.  We have tested out many formations, but perhaps the 4-3-1-2 allows us to be more compact. We played very well in the first half. We know that we can give more though. Poli is an important player and we know he is always there for us because he runs hard and brings a lot of determination. My compliments to him. The affection from the fans always gives me great strength. It’s down to us to bring the fans back to the stadium, but they always support us and we have to applaud them for this."
LUCA ANTONELLI"We have brought home 3 fundamental points for us, even if we didn’t have that many shots on goal. The victory is still deserved though. We are pleased. We will take away these 3 points and prepare for the Chievo match. The more players we recover the better it is, they are all top players and it gives more choices to the coach. My team-mates and the coach have all been really welcoming. The fans are vital to our wins, it’s fair enough that they whistle when we lose, and it is down to us to turn them into cheers."
ANDREA POLI "We really wanted to win today. We all played well. We’re pleased and we now want to be consistent in our results. Let’s start to think about next Saturday and getting another 3 points. Today there was a good spirit. I wasn’t offside, but I don’t know, they are match incidents. Whoever scores it doesn’t matter. The formation is interesting (today coach Inzaghi fielded a 4-3-1-2, editor’s note). We have to improve it and understand it better. We did very well in the first half, we’re satisfied. I want to win with Milan and with commitment we can do well. When the results don’t arrive we are the first to be responsible. We all have to give more, me first of all. We want to fight for the European places. We’re Milan and we have 14 matches available. Every match will be like a final."
SERGINHO (SPECIAL GUEST TODAY AT THE SAN SIRO)"Jeremy Menez tried to lead the side to victory, he carried the ball forwards well, he is having a good season, I think he deserves to be named as man of the match. I saw a Milan side with a huge desire to win. The side was very compact and gave away very few goal scoring chances. This is the right path. Slowly the team will come out of this difficult moment."
