MILAN - Filippo Inzaghi has been speaking to the press at Milanello today and here is what the coach had to say:
"You do not have to think about what was or what will be for the good of this team and this club, we are on the right track, it takes a little  bit of patience, but slowly Milan will return to where all Milan fans dream of. Goals from the attackers are important, a lot of players have scored and the fact that Honda is the only striker who has scored a lot of goals does not worry me because I think that the goal from Torres and Pazzini will come, I hope what is happening with Torres is the same as Crespo’s success with Ancelotti. Torres has always scored and I think he will get back to that. I think the only game where we didn’t play well was against Palermo, but seeing from where we started it can happen. I am pleased overall with the way we are playing and I think the Sampdoria match was are best one from a technical point of view and I got a message from Arrigo Sacchi who I consider one of the best coaches in the world and is a reference for me, at the end of the game where he congratulated me on the game and what we had done on the pitch. He told me that we are on the right path and now we must climb the table.
"We deserved to win in Genoa, we still have some flaws that limit us but we know where we need to grow, we must start from that game which was a difficult game against a team that was playing well. From the point of view we controlled the game for long stretches, everyone got involved, Milan must start from there, then, the derby is coming up and it will be a good game. I said this since the early days, Juve have already proven for years that they are winners, Milan has had to start again and it is not that easy but the club supports me as does the President who has backed me. These first months I have also served to better assess the squad, I know if we will need some tweaking in January to improve the team and the club will give me a hand. I just try and do my job and not get involved in other issues.
"I see, however, a beautiful spirit, every day I am thinking with my staff how to get the most from these players because I am a Milan fan and I hope to make the fans happy again. Milan-Inter is always the top game for everyone, the two badges, they are coming off difficult seasons but there are always great cycles where you have to restart something so I think they will bounce back and I hope it is Milan first of all.
"I was amazed at the spirit of this group, after a difficult year I thought I would find more problems, however, since the first day the group has followed what I have asked so I will never reproach this team because they try to do everything they can each day and this is the foundation to build from. Our fans have been behind us and apart from the game against Palermo where we could have gone third we have done well but they will forgive us soon for that.
"The squad should always be the best to gain good results and we have young players such as El Shaarawy and De Sciglio coming through so I hope that Milan have a bright future. I think that a coach who wants to do well needs to be self-critical. I always think I can do better but me and my staff always give our all. Everyone is doing what is asked of them and that includes those who have not been playing so I am relaxed. It is a wonderful job which which I like, and I hope to stay at Milan a long time. This is my dream."
