MILAN - NUTRILITE, the world's number one manufacturer of dietary based phytonutrients supplements*, owned by Amway, will once again partner AC Milan, this time until June 2016. NUTRILITE and AC Milan have actively collaborated since 2008 on and off the pitch.
The agreement was renewed today with Jaap Kalma, Commercial Director AC Milan, and Michael Meissner, Vice President of Corporate Affairs Amway Europe present, and will have as its key element the continuation of the collaboration between scientific experts at NUTRILITE and MilanLab, in a centre of interdisciplinary research with high technological content provided by the Rossoneri club.
"It is a unique partnership in the field of sport that brings together two world leaders, NUTRILITE and MilanLab, with the aim of working scientifically on the centrality of nutrition and nutritional supplements to support sporting activities and as a key element in achieving a healthy optimal state," said Michael Meissner, Vice President of Corporate Affairs Amway Europe.
The enterprise between Nutrilite and MilanLab is expressed in developing a programme tailored to the needs of individual athletes and defined through rigorous tests, including genetic testing and blood chemistry, as well as the compilation of a detailed food questionnaire. Based on the results of this accurate analysis the NUTRILITE and MilanLab experts will define a plan of nutritional and dietary supplements specific to each player.
NUTRILITE and AC Milan have also worked together on social responsibility initiatives: over the years NUTRILITE along with Milan Foundation, the Rossoneri charity has backed several projects dedicated to underprivileged children as part of the worldwide campaign to support children: Amway One by One ™.
The underlying theme of these initiatives is sport as a training tool and team-work from an early age, as well as the practice thereof which is critical to health and well-being. Among the projects supported have been the creation of a centre for the diagnosis and treatment of vascular anomalies at the Buzzi Children Hospital in Milan and the construction of two multi-purpose sports centres, the first in Pagliare di Sassa following the earthquake that hit the Abruzzo region in 2009, and the second in Naples, in an area with serious social problems where there were no community centres for youngsters.
Most recently NUTRILITE along with Milan Foundation held the latest edition of the Beach volleyball tournament dedicated to the projects supported by the Foundation. The funds raised will go to the "Sport and Social Inclusion" programme which aims to tackle youth problems through the promotion of sport. Specifically, the initiative will support the School Workshop project, a programme built on the principle of alternation between school and work, an effective tool in responding to the "risk dispersion" for young people who need good proposals and points of reference, to resume with confidence their training.
