MILAN – At 16 years old and 3 months, he made his debut for the Italy Under-17s and just 5 months later he made his debut for the Italy Under-18s. It wasn’t long before he attracted the attention of the Azzurri Under-19s and at 17 years old and 2 months he was a regular at the European Championships in March earlier this year. Today, and at the tender age of 18, Davide Calabria is a starter in Evani’s Italy Under 20s.  
But it’s not just with the blue of Italy that the young defender has stood out and stepped up to the mark. Born on the 6th of December in 1996, he joined the Milan youth sector in 2007 from Adrense for a fee of 1.200 euros. It was the start of a journey that would take him through every level of the youth sector, from the Pulcini to the Primavera. 
Yet to turn 19, Calabria shone during pre-season and featured regularly for the first team showing that he could be relied upon when needed. His chance came in round 4 of Serie A on Saturday night, and with Abate forced to limp off, he was handed a home debut with the Milan jersey. He lived up to the expectations with an assured display and earned the praise of Sinisa Mihajlovic during the post-match press conference.  
Calabria made his official debut for the first team at the end of last season in the rossoneri’s win at Atalanta and will be hoping to make more appearances over the course of the season.
