MILAN – The friendly fixture between Reggiana-Milan at the Mapei Stadium on Wednesday evening ended 3-0 in favour of the rossoneri.Milan, playing in their white away strip, made a perfect start to the match and on just 4 minutes Suso broke the deadlock. The Spanish midfielder worked his way into a promising position and unleashed a fantastic left foot strike from outside the penalty area which flew past the Reggiana goalkeeper Messina. The rossoneri enjoyed plenty of the possession and passed the ball around well while at the other end Christian Abbiati, skippering the side, was rarely troubled. However, the Italian was called into action to block a long range effort from Angiulli. Filippo Inzaghi handed starts to youth sector stars Di Molfetta and Mastalli and the latter very nearly doubled Milan’s lead with an acrobatic effort which went just over the bar following a whipped cross out on the left by Albertazzi.Milan did eventually open up a two goal cushion and Suso was on the score-sheet again. After breaking the deadlock in spectacular style, the Spaniard didn’t disappoint and following some fancy footwork inside the penalty area he curled the ball into the top-left corner on 43 minutes. Soon after the restart Suso had a good chance to make it a hat-trick, but the attacking midfielder dragged an effort from a promising position inches wide of the near post.Inzaghi made plenty of changes during the half-time interval, which included bringing Menez and Destro on for Di Molfetta and Pazzini respectively. The two subs were immediately involved and it took a good save from the Reggiana goalkeeper to keep out the Italian’s back heel flick on a Menez assist. Andrea Poli, on for Essien at half-time, then forced the Reggiana goalkeeper into another very good safe from close distance shortly after. The rossoneri’s pressure eventually paid off as Menez wrapped up the win with just under 15 minutes left to play with a very cool finish into the bottom right corner. This is how the two sides lined-up for the friendly fixture at the Mapei Stadium:REGGIANA: Messina; Andreoni, De Biasi, De Giosa, Gueye; Parola, Angiulli, Ceccarelli; Alessi, Petkovic, Vernocchi.
