A Milan side that would be crowned European Champions for the 7th time at the end of the season, hosted Empoli at the San Siro. Ronaldo broke the deadlock on 13 minutes in trademark style with a powerful left foot strike. Saudati levelled the scores on 43 minutes, but just one minute later the rossoneri restored their advantage through Gilardino with an acrobatic effort.
