JANUARY DERBY RECORD


MILAN – Since Serie A won single championship (1929/30) there have been 12 competitive Milan derbies in January: six in the league and six in the Italian Cup. Milan have won three, drawn three and lost six. Before that date there were four meetings: three Rossoneri win and a draw.
The last January derby win was on the 8, 1998 in the Italian Cup and Milan won 5-0 Albertini (pen 29’), Ganz (33’), Savicevic (44’), Colonnese (og 46’) and Nilsen (60’).  The last league win was 19 January 1964: 2-0 with Inter at home, Fortunato (13’) and Rivera (35’).
Coming into this derby, Milan have 33 points and Inter 41. In the last eight matches Milan have picked up 13 points thanks to three wins, a draw and one defeat which came at home to Bologna, 1-0. Inter have taken 11, with three wins, two draws and three defeats.
Inter have scored in every of their 14 last away games, with 23 goals in total. The only goalless outing was a 1-0 defeat to Sampdoria on 22 March 2015 when Sinisa Mihajlovic happened to be coach of the home side.
