A brave Allievi side lose to Sao Paolo in the semi-finals of the Al Kass Cup.

MILAN –  Sao Paolo ran out 5-0 winners against the Milan Allievi in the semi-final of the Al Kass International Cup on Friday.

The Brazilians took a 2-0 lead after thirty minutes through a Paulo Henrique penalty and a goal by Bruno Rapanelli. In previous occasions during the Al Kass tournament the rossoneri youngsters have been able to overturn a two nil lead and Gabbia, La Ferrara and Zanellato all came close for the Milan Allievi in the opening 45 minutes but were unlucky not to pull a goal back.

In the second-half, Milan continued to go in search of a goal to get back into the game although in the end it was Sao Paolo who opened up a three goal cushion in the final quarter of the match through Paulo Henrique. Augusto Galvan and Matheus Viveiros added two more goals for the Brazilian side for a final score of 5-0 which is harsh on a Milan side that never gave in and that was desperately unlucky on several occasions. Coach Monguzzi’s team can be proud of their display.

Last year Milan also went out at the semi-final stage of the youth tournament in Doha, Qatar and were able to win the third place play-off. This year that is also the aim and on Sunday Milan will play Arsenal in the third place play-off.
