MILAN – The club’s CEO Barbara Berlusconi welcomed and met school children from the Madre Cabrini elementary school in Milan on Monday at Casa Milan. The school children were at the club’s HQ as part of a new initiative launched by the club to promote healthy lifestyles and the values of sport. Monday marked the first of many educational classes to be held with elementary schools from the city of Milan and the Lombardy region. The lessons in the educational areas at Casa Milan are carried out in an innovative and fun manner. In fact, NAO, the friendly and intelligent robot companion, is used to motivate and encourage the learning process while afterwards the children also have the chance to visit the club’s Mondo Milan Museum and the Milan Kids course, designed especially for children.AC Milan, in collaboration with IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, have decided to launch a series of educational classes with NAO for schools and families. Along with researchers from the Advanced Technology Centre for Health and Well Being at San Raffaele Hospital, NAO will meet classes and teach about the important issue of healthy lifestyles. NAO has already been successfully trialed in Japan and in Great Britain in many schools and for the first time in Italy the robot companion will be promoting an important and educational theme. Thanks to its unique combination of hardware and software, the robot is able to move, observe its surroundings, recognise you and even able to speak to you. The robot has already been used at the pediatric unit at the San Raffaele Hospital as part of the European research projects Aliz-E / PAL and in collaboration with the charity “Sostegno 70 -  Insieme”, where NAO interacts with the children with type 1 diabetes. The children are able to play and at the same time become more informed about diabetes and how to live with the condition.
