More facts and stats ahead of Chievo-Milan.

MILAN – This Saturday, Milan take on Chievo at the Bentegodi in Round 25 of Serie A. As we edge ever closer to the match here are some facts and stats to whet the appetite.

Chievo Verona haven’t scored a goal at the Bentegodi against Milan in 299 minutes. The last Chievo player to find the back of the net against the rossoneri at home was Fernandes on the 20th of February 2011 in Chievo-Milan 1-2. Chievo’s last win at home to AC Milan came 10 years ago, on the 3rd of December 2005. From the following 7 matches at the Bentegodi against Chievo, Milan have won 6 and drawn 1.

Just 8 Chievo players have managed to get their names on the score-sheet this season, one of the fewest along with Udinese. The following have scored this season for Chievo: Izco, Lazarevic, Maxi Lopez, Meggiorini, Paloschi, Pellissier, Radovanovic and Zukanovic.

Chievo, just like Udinese, are one of the two teams not to have had a penalty awarded in their favour this season. Milan on the other hand, along with Cagliari, are one of the sides to have been awarded the most: 7. The last time the gialloblu were awarded a penalty was on the 27th of April 2014 which was successfully converted by Thereau in Sampdoria-Chievo 2-1.

Milan haven’t won away from home since the 19th of October. Interestingly, that win came at the Bentegodi stadium, albeit it against Chievo’s local rivals Hellas. The following 7 matches on the road since that win have resulted in 4 draws and 3 defeats.

Finally, Filippo Inzaghi will be taking on Chievo coach Rolando Maran for the very first time. Inzaghi has overseen 1 victory against Chievo in charge of Milan however which arrived earlier this season in a 2-0 win at the San Siro. Rolando Maran meanwhile has faced Milan as a coach on 4 occasions. Twice in Serie A and twice in the Italian Cup. On all four occasions he has been on the losing side.
