DIEGO LOPEZ: WE HAVE POTENTIAL

MILANELLO - Diego Lopez spoke exclusively to Milan Channel about life at Milanello, his excellent start to his Milan career and why he chose the rossoneri. The Spanish goalkeeper said:"I was very happy to save the penalty but it was more important to win the game. However that moment gave me a lot of confidence. Milan and Real are two great clubs, very important worldwide, they both have big stadiums and bit by bit I am starting to settle down with the rest of my teammates. When the chance to move to Milan came up I took it without hesitation because Milan has so much history as a club despite what has happened in the last few years. I will try to take the club back to where they belong."The fomer Real Madrid player received some very important advice from another Italian and a rossoneri legend when he received the offer from Milan."Carlo Ancelotti and Villian Vecchi both spoke so highly of this club and everything they told me has been backed up after my arrival. Now we have to give 100% and work as hard as possible. The goalkeeping coach here at Milan, Magni, plays close attention to detail and we work very well. I get on very well with the defenders here but it is important to defend as a team and then also attack as a team. Fernando Torres is a very important signing for Milan, he has done some important things in his career, his job is to score goals. He is an important player, with experience, he is quick and very strong."Diego Lopez has been impressed with Pippo Inzaghi's style of coaching so far. He said:"We need to keep doing well, step by step. We are working well with the coach, we are training in a humble manner and slowly we can get better if we only think about one game at a time. I am not thinking about Milan-Juventus for now, the only thing I have on my mind is today's training, that is the only way to be. Fernando Torres will be very useful for Milan, he has the right characteristics to do well in a team like Milan. I have been very impresses with things here at Milanello, everything is so organised  here and Milanello really is amazing. I like the people that work here, Milan and the president really have built a family here. Inzaghi is a real motivator, he will become a great coach, the poeple are behind him both from a professional point of view as well as a personal point of view because he is calm and gives you confidence. It is very important for us to do well against Parma but we also know it will not be easy. We have to play our game. I still don't speak much Italian but I understand everything. Forza Milan!"
