CONVINCING WIN

(IN THE PHOTO: the Milan Primavera starting line-up)MILAN – Cristian Brocchi made a winning start as Primavera coach after his players ran out 4-0 winners in the youth league match against Cittadella at the Vismara Sports Centre on Saturday. Milan were very lively straight from the first whistle and raced into a 2-0 lead. On 7 minutes Vassallo headed home Mastalli’s cross from the right and just one minute later the rossoneri doubled their lead thanks to a very cool finish from Di Molfetta from inside the area. Credit also goes to Gamarra who won back possession in the build up to the goal. Brocchi’s boys were dominating and came close to opening up a three goal cushion with a powerful strike by Felicioli that went inches wide of the mark. At the other end of the pitch, the Primavera shot-stopper Gori performed a fabulous save in a one on one situation with Cittadella’s Bortoluz to keep the 2-0 score-line intact. In the dying stages of the first half, the Milan youngsters were unlucky not to score again as Calabria’s effort ended up just over the crossbar. The rossoneri began the second half seeking a third goal and Vassallo thought he had done just that within one minute of the restart but he sent his shot over the bar after some excellent play down the right by Calabria. Vassallo seemed determined to score his second goal of the match although the Cittadella defence had other ideas blocking his attempt on 59 minutes. Brocchi’s boys continued to dominate and it finally paid off on 69 minutes when Di Molfetta won a penalty. He then brushed himself off to send the Cittadella goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty-spot for a 3-0 lead and what is more his second goal of the game.Moments later the skipper Mastalli completed the rout to make it 4-0 in what was a convincing win by Cristian Brocchi’s players.
