MILAN – The Serie A Round 34 fixture between Napoli-Milan ended 3-0 in favour of the home side. The rossoneri were reduced to 10 men within the first minute after De Sciglio was given a red card for his foul on Hamsik inside the penalty area. Diego Lopez however performed heroics to deny Higuain from the penalty spot. Milan defended bravely for the rest of the first half, giving away very little despite being down to 10 men. In fact, it was Milan that came closest to breaking the deadlock and Bonaventura was desperately unlucky to see his header hit the post shortly before the first half whistle. Napoli eventually wore down Milan’s valiant resistance on 70 minutes when Hamsik curled the ball beyond Diego Lopez. Napoli extended their lead firstly through Higuain and then Gabbiadini for a final score of 3-0.

Here are the stats to emerge from the match:

2- the number of penalties saved by Diego Lopez this season in Serie A. Before denying Higuain, the Spaniard saved a Candreva penalty on round 1 of the season.

200- by coming on against Napoli, Daniele Bonera made his 200th appearance for Milan: 151 in Serie A, 13 in the Italian Cup, 35 in Europe and 1 in the World Club Cup.

32- this is the number of players that coach Inzaghi has used this season from the first 34 rounds. Against Napoli, Gian Filippo Felicioli made his debut.
