MILAN – Milan restored winning ways on Sunday night by defeating Parma 3-1 at the San Siro in the Round 21 Serie A clash. The rossoneri played with great character and in the second half played good attacking football. Jeremy Menez netted twice and then turned provider for Zaccardo, who marked his first appearance of the season with a first goal with the Milan jersey. The rossoneri are now on 29 points in the league table after Sunday night’s victory against Parma.
Here are the stats to emerge from the match:
49- The victory over Parma was Milan’s first win in Serie A in 49 days. The last time Milan tasted success in a league fixture was on the 14th of December in a 2-0 win at the San Siro over Napoli. Just like the match against Parma, Jeremy Menez also broke the deadlock on that occasion while the second goal was scored by Giacomo Bonaventura.
3- Menez has now scored a total of 3 braces with the Milan jersey. Two have come against Parma (Menez also netted twice in this fixture earlier in the season) while the other came at home to Udinese.
1- Sunday’s match at home to Parma was Cristian Zaccardo’s first appearance in Serie A for the 2014/2015 season. Milan’s no. 81 also netted his first ever goal with the Milan jersey after 14 appearances.
28- This is the number of players fielded by coach Filippo Inzaghi after 21 league matches. Mattia Destro and Salvatore Bocchetti made their first appearances for Milan against Parma.
