MILAN – The rossoneri end the first part of the season on 26 points after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Atalanta. German Denis scored the game’s decisive goal on 33 minutes for the away side thanks to an assist from Maxi Moralez. Before that however Giacomo Bonaventura came close and tested Marco Sportiello from distance while Jeremy Menez nearly levelled the scores on the stroke of half-time with a well taken free-kick. After the restart, Milan enjoyed plenty of possession and pushed forward but the rossoneri were unable to find a way through an organised and compact Atalanta team.
Here are the stats to emerge from the match:
26-  After the first 19 rounds of the season, Milan are on 26 points. This time last season Milan had 4 points less.
14-  The number of points collected by Milan from the first 10 home matches of the season. The record from those games reads 4 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats.
9-  The number of goals conceded by Milan at home this season. 4 in the first-half and 5 in the second-half.
490-  The number of days since Atalanta’s last win at the San Siro against Milan. On that day the score-line was also 1-0 but Luca Cigarini was the goal-scorer.
