BARESI: AMBASSADOR EXPO 2015

 

The club legend has been named as one of the ambassadors for Expo Milano 2015.

MILAN – Legendary club captain and one of the all-time greats Franco Baresi has been named as an ambassador for Expo Milano 2015.His career with Milan began in the 1977/78 season and the season after, and at just 18 years of age, he became a first team regular and played his part in Milan’s tenth Scudetto triumph.

With the arrival of Silvio Berlusconi at the helm and Arrigo Sacchi as coach, Baresi went on to enjoy unrivalled success and triumphs with the rossoneri, going on to become the leader and captain of the invincible Milan side.

Alongside Paolo Maldini, Billy Costacurta and Mauro Tassotti he formed one of the best defensive line-ups in the history of football. Franco Baresi played a total of 719 matches for Milan, winning 6 Italian titles, 3 European Cups and 2 Intercontinental Cups.

As of Friday the 17th of April, he is also an official ambassador for Expo Milano 2015.
