MILANELLO – After the away match in Turin on Saturday night, the rossoneri were straight back at Milanello on Sunday to prepare for Tuesday’s Italian Cup match at home to Sassuolo.Sunday’s training session began in the gym with a warm-up before the players were split into two groups.Those that started the match against Torino went through a cool-down session while the rest of the squad headed out onto the central pitch for running drills with the use of cones, obstacles and poles. This was then followed by some stretching.Sunday’s training session continued with fitness work. Zaccardo, Mastour, De Sciglio, El Shaarawy, Albertazzi, Saponara and Pazzini did up-hill running, while Poli, Zapata, Bonera, Van Ginkel and Essien stayed out on the central pitch to do running drills over 50m.Afterwards the players focused on tactics ahead of the last-16 TIM Cup match at home to Sassuolo on Tuesday at 21.00.Individuals: Daniele Bonera trained with the rest of the group outside. Marco Van Ginkel took part in close to the entire training session with the rest of the squad, sitting out the tactical phase of the session. Instead, the Dutchman ran through technical drills with the ball out on the lower pitch at Milanello. Alex worked on his personalised fitness programme in the sandy area.
