MILANELLO – With the sun shining at Milanello on Tuesday, the players started their preparations ahead of Sunday’s match against Napoli at the San Siro. (a reminder that kick-off is at 20.45 and that you can still purchase tickets by clicking here)Tuesday’s training session began at 15.00 with some fitness out on the pitches at Milanello. Sulley Muntari took part in the first part of the training session with the rest of his team-mates. The players then continued with their warm-up by doing running drills with the use of the cones and the obstacles. After some stretching, the players jogged around the pitch at varying speeds and intensity levels.The players were then divided into groups. - De Jong, Rami, Mexes and Torres did running over 70m and then an additional 30m.- Niang, Zaccardo, El Shaarawy, Honda and Essien did running over 100m and then an additional 50m.- Montolivo, Bonera, Poli, Saponara, Van Ginkel and Bonaventura also did running over increasing distances.- Menez did sprints over 10-20m.While his team-mates continued to work on the above fitness drills, Sulley Muntari ran through a technical-athletic drill on the lower pitch at Milanello. The players then came together again on the raised pitch for a possession drill and Muntari acted as the free floating player between both sides.The session came to a close with a practice match, while Sulley Muntari finished Tuesday’s session in the gym.On Wednesday, the players will have a double training session. The morning session is scheduled to start at 11.00 while in the afternoon the players will train at 14.45.
