MILAN – It was a very special Sunday for AC Milan’s CEO Adriano Galliani who was awarded the Ambrogino d'Oro ahead of Genoa-Milan.
The prestigious award is handed out by the Milan Council on a yearly basis to someone who has achieved a lot for the city of Milan throughout their career. The Mayor of Milan Giuliano Pisapia was also there at the ceremony and handed out the award to Galliani.
The ceremony began at 10.30 on Sunday morning at the Teatro Dal Verme in the city of Milan and before collecting his award, Galliani said the following to the Milan Channel: "I am very happy about this award, I’ve collected it before on behalf of Milan when we won the Champions League and I hope for the fans that I can collect the Ambrogino again following a great triumph by Milan. As soon as the ceremony ends, I will head to Genoa. We’re playing well, let’s hope this day that has started well finishes just as well. I’m a bit superstitious and I won’t say anything else before the match."
