ACTIONS, NOT WORDS

MILAN – Mattia De Sciglio spoke to the press on Thursday from Italy’s training centre at Coverciano. The Italian defender spoke about a range of themes including the derby with Inter in the next round of Serie A. De Sciglio also spoke about other themes including his current form:"When will you see the best of De Sciglio? It’s an issue that I have no interest in, I just need to play consistently. I know my value, I speak little, it’s what happens on the pitch that counts. Anyway, I’m calm, at my age it’s normal to have highs and lows. I repeat, here at Coverciano I don’t want to speak about Serie A, although I’ll say that Milan can definitely finish third."On the derby with Inter: "We’ll speak about it later on, we’re here for the Italian national side and for a delicate fixture. Croatia aren’t stronger than us, but we will need lots of concentration to win, because they’re full of excellent players."Speaking about the competition in the Italy squad with fellow team-mate Stephan El Shaarawy: "It’s a positive thing, it’s an advantage. Stephan is more attacking compared to me, he can be used with a change to the formation in a position further forward and without any particular defensive duties." A word on the Italy head coach Antonio Conte: "He works a lot on the specifics, he takes care of every detail. We’ve already memorised a lot of the plays that he’s asked of us. It’s now easier, everyone knows what to do. Yes, the coach has simplified a lot of things."
