In the 66th minute, the visitors attempted to make a comeback when Abu Fani found the net directly from a corner kick. However, Spalletti’s squad quickly responded, sealing the match in the 72nd minute with a low cross from Dimarco that Frattesi finished off with a left-footed shot inside the box. Then, in the 79th minute, Di Lorenzo scored his first brace for the national team, converting a pass from Udogie with a precise right-footed shot into the bottom corner.

The moment everyone had been waiting for arrived in the 74th minute when the “third Maldini” took to the pitch for the Italian team. Daniel Maldini made his debut, coming on for Giacomo Raspadori. This is a significant milestone, as the Maldini family is now the first to have three generations—Cesare (grandfather), Paolo (father), and Daniel (son) —play for Italy. Such a wonderful celebration!
🇮🇹 Congratulations, Daniel Maldini, on your first match with the Italian National team! We’re incredibly proud to see a third “Maldini” donning the Italian colors.

✅ Stats before the game
Italy has never lost in the nine previous matches (W7 D2) played in Udine, conceding only two goals and collecting seven ‘clean sheets’ in the process; only in Florence have the Azzurri played more matches (30) in a single Italian city without recording a defeat.
Italy returns to play a match in Udine for the first time since March 23, 2019, against Finland: 2-0 victory for the Azzurri, in the EURO2020 qualifiers, thanks to goals from Nicolò Barella and Moise Kean.
After a 2-2 draw against Belgium, Italy could draw two games in a row for the first time since November 2021 (against Switzerland and Northern Ireland in that case).
UEFA Nations League Tickets
Italy are unbeaten in nine (W6 D3) of their last 10 matches played on Italian soil; the Azzurri’s only defeat in that period came against England on 23 March 2023.
Following losses against Belgium, Italy and France, Israel could lose four games in a row for the first time since October 2017 to September 2018.
Italy have conceded in each of their last seven matches; the last time the Azzurri recorded a longer streak of consecutive goals conceded was between March and October 2018 (eight in that case).
Israel have scored in eight of their last nine matches; the only match, in the period, in which the Azzurri’s next opponents did not find the net was against Hungary (0-3, in a friendly, last June 8).
The next one will be Gianluigi Donnarumma’s 70th match with Italy; if he takes the field against Israel, the 1999-born player will equal Alessandro Mazzola (70) in 23rd place among the Azzurri players with the most appearances.
Davide Frattesi is the player who has collected the most appearances (16) in Luciano Spalletti’s management with Italy; instead, the Azzurri outfield player with the highest number of minutes (1125′) is Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
