👉🏆 AS Roma win the Europa Conference League Semifinal Second Leg game defeating Leicester City on Thursday 5 May 2022 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. José Mourinho’s efforts energized the squad towards the final in Tirana (25 May) and fans embraced the team. It started again from 1-1 of a week ago in Leicester, when Lorenzo Pellegrini led the Capitoline forward before the final draw in the second half with Mancini’s unfortunate own goal. The aggregate result is Roma 2 – 1 Leicester. ROMA MADE IT TO THE FINALs to be played on 25 May 2022 at the Arena Kombëtare in Tirana, Albania.
Fifth European final in a seasonal competition for Coach José Mourinho after UEFA and Champions with Porto, again Champions with Inter and Europa League with Manchester United, all won. Expanding the speech to the Super Cups, the Portuguese had the opportunity to play three, driving Porto, Chelsea and Manchester United, without ever taking home the title. Fourth step of the round of 12 attempts against an English side for Roma, something the Giallorossi had not been able to do since the 1999/2000 UEFA Cup when they eliminated Newcastle United, winning at the Olimpico and drawing in England.
An emotional moment when the entire whole Olimpico applauds Claudio Ranieri, former coach of both teams, who is almost in tears at the applause of the 63939 spectators.
Roma, after having failed in the Champions League goal in 2017-18 against Liverpool and in the Europa League last season against Manchester United, this time want to push forward and return to play a European final that has been missing since 1991.
AS Roma opened the score in the 11th minute. Forward Tammy Abraham defeated Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel from very close range with a headed shot to the high center. The assist is by Lorenzo Pellegrini with a cross following a corner conceded by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

9 – Tammy Abraham has scored nine goals in this season’s Europa Conference League. The only English players to score more in a single season in a major European competition (excl. quals) are Alan Shearer (11 in 2004-05 UEFA Cup) and Stan Bowles (11 in 1976-77 UEFA Cup).
