👉🏆 The big moment became a nightmare for Fiorentina losing the UEFA Conference League Final game against Olympiacos on Wednesday 29 May 2024 at the AEK Arena in Athens, Grecce. It was a bitter end for Fiorentina, who fell four minutes from the end of extra time. It was El Kaabi, the most eagerly awaited man but so far kept perfectly at bay by Milenkovic, who started the Greek party with a header from Hezze’s assist. Fiorentina, as in the past season, is still one step away from the European triumph while, on the opposite side, Mendilibar takes home the second consecutive European cup against an Italian team after the Europa League won by the European Championship.
Olympiacos, in the first European final in its history, faced Fiorentina, in the second consecutive Conference League final after the one lost last season against West Ham United.

Olympiacos took the lead in extra time. In the 116th minute, Ayoub El Kaabi defeated Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano from very close range with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Santiago Hezze. Verified after VAR check.

For Olympiacos, they are considered as the underdogs and the first Greek club side in over 50 years to reach a major European final. Fiorentina finished eighth in Serie A and booked their spot in this competition again next season. It’s their second successive time in this final having lost 2-1 to West Ham last time out. The Greeks, coached by Mendilibar, who won the Europa League last year with Sevilla and landed on the red and white bench in February, were relegated to the Conference by finishing third in their group of the second European competition, then grabbed the Conference final by eliminating Ferencvaros, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Fenerbahce and Aston Villa.

👉🏆 Fiorentina made it and won the UEFA Conference Europa League Quarterfinals Second Leg on Thursday 18 April 2024 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy. Fiorentina reached the Conference semi-final for the second year in a row after beating Viktoria Plzen 2-0 in extra time. In a total of 120 minutes, plus injury time, Fiorentina proved to be superior and capitalized on the enormous amount of chances created first with Nico Gonzalez and then with Biraghi, both of whom scored in extra time.
For the Tuscans, during the match, there was also a crossbar with Kouamé and two posts with Belotti and Martinez Quaranta respectively. Zero dangers, however, for Terraciano.
Fiorentina, in the semi-final, will find one between Paok and Club Brugge (currently 0-0, match still in progress).
Fiorentina remain unbeaten in this Conference League with 5 wins and 5 draws.
