Czech Republic win the UEFA Euro 2020 Group D match against Scotland on Monday 14 June 2021 at the Hampden Park in Glasgow.  A sour defeat for Scotland on their first major tournament in 23 years since their appearance at the 1998 World Cup  and missing five European Championships and five World Cups.   The hero for Czech Republic is Patrik Schick scoring a brace.  On Matchday 2, on Friday 18, Scotland will face England at Wembley and Czech Republic will face Croatia at Hampden Park.

  UEFA Euro 2020 Group D Standing after Matchday 1

Czech Republic opening the score in the 42nd minute.  Patrik Schick defeating Scotland goalkeeper with a headed shot to the bottom left corner.  The assist is by Vladimir Coufal with a cross following a corner conceded by Scott McTominay.

Scotland unable to reach and Czech Republic increasing the score for the 2-0 in the 52nd minute.  It is again Patrik Schick to punish Scotland with a left footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Tomas Soucek.
