Patrik Schick defeating Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic converting a penalty with a left footed shot to the bottom left corner. The penalty is conceded by Dejan Lovren after a foul on Schick. Italy Head Coach Roberto Mancini and the team with a happy smile on Thursday 17 June 2021.  Italy is the first team qualifying to the UEFA Euro 2020 after defeating Switzerland on Matchday 2 on Wednesday 16.   The Italian Football Association (FIGC) informs that the team had a training match against Cremonese today in Coverciano.   Italy preparing ahead of Matchday 3 against Wales on Sunday which will decide the leader of Group A.

The FIGC reports that the centre pitch at the Federal Technical Center, the ‘Vittorio Pozzo’, was the setting for a test match between Mancini’s men and the Cremonese Primavera team. The Azzurri who took to the field were the ones who did not start from the first minute against the Swiss; Acerbi – who replaced Chiellini in the first half yesterday – and Florenzi didn’t take part in the training match either. In the first of the two 25-minute halves, Sirigu and Raspadori played alongside the Grigiorosso, while in the second half Sirigu stayed with the Lombardi side, as well as Bernardeschi and Belotti for half the time each. Chiesa and Belotti (both scorers of a hat-trick), Pessina (scoring twice) and Bernardeschi scored to seal a 9-1 final score. The young Lauciello found the net for Cremonese.

At the end of the match a group photo was taken to remember this special afternoon for the Grigiorossi. Not to be missed in the shot was the delegation chief of the Azzurri, Gianluca Vialli, born in Cremona and growing through the footballing ranks in the Cremonese area.

Ukraine winning the UEFA Euro 2020 Group C match defeating North Macedonia on Thursday 17 June 2021 at the National Arena in Bucharest. Ukraine celebrating their first win at Euro 2020 while North Macedonia losing both games. Painful defeat for North Macedonia becoming the first team eliminated from Euro 2020.

Highlight of the match seeing Andriy Yarmolenko and Roman Yaremchuk becoming the first duo to score in each of their team’s first two games in European Championship history. North Macedonia lost on Matchday 1 against Austria 3-1.  On Matchday 3, Monday 21 June, North Macedonia will face Netherlands and Ukraine will face Austria.

North Macedonia shortening the distance for the 2-1 in the 57th minute.  Ezgjan Alioski defeating Ukraine goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan with a left footed shot to the center.  The goal arriving after Bushchan saved Alioski ‘s penalty. This is Alioski’s first goal at a major tournament. Alioski not wasting his moment and on the rebound scored after his initial saved penalty following a foul on Goran Pandev.
