Great news!  The Italian National Team qualified to the UEFA Euro 2020 Round of 16 as Group A Winner with the perfect score of 9 points.  Italy will play the second-place team from Group C at Wembley Stadium in London next Saturday 26 June 2021 at 21:00.    Italy defeated Wales on Sunday 20 June with a 1-0.  The victory is a boost for the morale of the “New Italy” because they are unbeaten for 30 games and  Italy’s 11th straight win with clean sheet.

Italy had this previous 30 straight win under Head Coach Vittorio Pozzo from 1935-39.  Italy won the second consecutive World Cup in 1938.

Wales ending in the 2nd place of Group A will play the second-place team from Group B in Amsterdam.

Italy win the UEFA Euro 2020 Group A Matchday 3 defeating Wales on Sunday 20 June 2021 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy.  Italy already qualified for the Round of 16. The victory guarantee Italy the Group leader with perfect score 9 points. Coach Roberto Mancini making eight starters change since the last EURO 2020 game. This is now a joint record for Italy in a single edition of a great tournament Euros and World Cup. Italy with 30 unbeaten games.

  • Italy and Wales’ last game was 18 years ago, in a European Championship qualifier back in September 2003. On that day, Filippo Inzaghi scored his one and only hat-trick with the Italian national team (4-0).

Switzerland  win the UEFA Euro 2020 Group A Matchday 3 defeating Turkey at Baku’s Olympic Stadium on Sunday 20 June 2021.   The defeat is double painful for Turkey because they are eliminated.
