Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Monza, 20th position with 15 points and a negative goal difference of -38
Udinese, 12th position with 44 points and a negative goal difference of -11

Udinese  lost the Serie A Week 36 match against Monza on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, Italy.  Even though Monza has already been mathematically relegated to Serie B, they proudly secured a victory and earned 3 points for the first time in 4 months. Udinese, on the other hand, remains at 44 points in 12th place, tied with Torino but having played one game less.

Monza celebrates a victory after nearly four months at Udinese’s ground: the first half ended in a goalless draw, despite several chances for the Bianconeri. Gianluca Caprari finally puts Monza ahead in the second half. Runjaic’s squad quickly responds, and after three near misses, they equalize thanks to Lorenzo Lucca. In the final moments, Keita Baldé, returning from injury, nets the decisive goal.

The Friulians have secured their safety for a few weeks now, thanks to their solid performance this season.

In the upcoming matchday, Udinese will take on Juventus in Turin, and Monza will face Empoli, who are fighting for survival.

In the 52nd minute, Monza took the lead when Gianluca Caprari found the net from just a few feet away, sending the ball into the bottom left corner. After Birindelli’s attempt hit the post, Caprari was quick to react and scored the opening goal with his shoulder!

Udinese leveled the score in the 75th minute when Lorenzo Lucca found the back of the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Jesper Karlström. It was a fantastic goal taking advantage of a mistake by Akpa Akpro, who allowed Karlström to take the ball. Lucca then outmuscled Carboni and volleyed it into the corner with his right foot!

Monza clinched the win in the 90th minute with a right-footed shot from Keita Baldé that found the center of the net. Kevin Zeroli provided the assist. Nesta’s squad is back in the lead! Zeroli’s cross from the left found Baldé unmarked at the far post, and he made no mistake in front of goal!

✅   Stats before the game:

Udinese are unbeaten against Monza in Serie A, with two wins and three draws. There are only three teams against whom the Bianconeri have played more games without losing in the competition: Pescara (eight), Alessandria (six) and Pisa (six).

Udinese and Monza have both drawn the Bianconeri’s home games in Serie A: 2-2 in April 2023, 0-0 in February 2024 – against no team have the Brianza side drawn three away games in the competition so far.

After a run of five consecutive defeats, Udinese have obtained four points from their two most recent Serie A games; the Bianconeri have failed to score in five of these last seven matches, as many times as in the previous 23. Udinese have failed to score in their last three home Serie A games (1D, 2L) and have not done worse in a single championship since 1993/94, when they reached five points between October and January.

Monza are stuck on 15 points in 35 games this championship. The last team to end a Serie A season with 15 or fewer points was Ancona in 2003/04 (13) – in a 20-team championship that would be a negative record (currently represented by Salernitana’s 17 in 2023/24). Sadly, Monza have lost all of their last 10 away games in Serie A and the last team to do worse away from home was Benevento in 2017/18, who reached 15 consecutive away defeats.

HERE IS THE SITUATION:   It’s definitely an intense competition for the Scudetto! Napoli is leading with 77 points, while Inter follows closely with 74 points. Nothing is certain yet, as the title race remains wide open with three games left in the season.

Prepare for the exciting finale in the race for the Scudetto!

Napoli triumphed over Lecce with a score of 1-0, thanks to Giacomo Raspadori’s stunning free kick that secured a crucial win in the Scudetto battle against Inter. Napoli showcased their heart, focus, and determination, prioritizing grit over flashy ball possession. Conte’s squad proved to be a formidable defensive unit, fiercely guarding their 1-0 lead. Lecce struggled to make an impact, with only Gaspar’s shot hitting the crossbar and a few late attempts that lacked real threat. Napoli capitalized on Raspadori’s brilliance and held on for a gritty victory, bringing their points total to 77, three ahead of Inter at 74. Lecce, meanwhile, remains at 27 points, just one above third-from-bottom Venezia

Inter secured a 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona, setting the stage for their Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona. At San Siro, with Simone Inzaghi suspended and Farris coaching from the bench, Asllani scored an early penalty to clinch the win. This result allows the Nerazzurri to keep pace with Napoli, who triumphed earlier today against Lecce. Inter will face Barcelona again on Tuesday, May 6 at 21:00 for the crucial second leg of the Champions League semi-final. Additionally, on Sunday at 18:00, they will compete against Vanoli’s Granata at the Stadio Olimpico – Grande Torino.

Bologna and Juventus played to a 1-1 draw, both finishing with 62 points. Khéphren Thuram opened the scoring, but Remo Freuler leveled the match in the second half. The home side pushed for a winner, yet Alberto Costa squandered a great opportunity from close range.

Roma 1 – 0 Fiorentina. Mission accomplished, Roma has secured 63 points, climbing to fourth place as they await the outcome of Bologna-Juventus. Fiorentina, stuck at 59 points, may have to bid farewell to their hopes of qualifying for the prestigious European tournament. Roma has successfully achieved another victory, winning 1-0 and marking their 19th consecutive positive result in the league.  Dovbyk scored with an assist from Shomurodov, while Svilar made some fantastic saves, helping the Giallorossi earn three crucial points for the Champions League.

Parma 0 – 1 Como. Big disappointment for Parma.  Como continues to impress, achieving its fifth straight Serie A win for the first time ever. Fabregas’ squad also secures its fourth consecutive clean sheet and rises to tenth place with 45 points, surpassing Torino. Parma faced a tough loss despite a solid performance from the team, who had been on a winning streak since March 1st. Chivu’s squad still holds a six-point lead over the team in third-to-last place.

Empoli 0 – 1 Lazio.  Boulaye Dia, clearly the standout player, secures three crucial points for Lazio, who momentarily rises to 4th in the league, surpassing Roma, Bologna, and Juventus all at once. Meanwhile, Empoli extends their winless streak to 20 matches, remaining in second-to-last place with 25 points.  Dia makes the decisive goal within just a minute. Lazio has a goal ruled out in the 52nd minute (Viti scores but was offside initially) and struggles to challenge Mandas further. Colombo and Hysaj receive red cards, while six others are cautioned, resulting in a total of 10 cards issued.

Italian Serie A

Monza 0 – 4 Atanta.  Total chaos, Monza has officially been relegated to Serie B with three matches remaining, marking the first confirmation of the relegation zone. The Brianza team fell to Atalanta, who finished the first half with a two-goal lead thanks to De Ketelaere’s brace. In the second half, Lookman and Brescianini added to the score. Carnesecchi also played a key role, making several outstanding saves. With 68 points, Atalanta is now very close to securing a Champions League spot and is eagerly awaiting the upcoming matches between Bologna-Juventus and Roma-Fiorentina.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Udinese, 12thposition with 41 points and a negative goal difference of -12
Cagliari, 15th position with 32 points and a negative goal difference of -14

Cagliari and Udinese will face off in Serie A on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Unipol Domus in Cagliari, Italy.

Stats before the game

Since April 14, 2018, Cagliari has not managed to score more than one goal against Udinese in Serie A, with the only goals coming from Pavoletti and Ceppitelli. Over the next 11 matches, the Sardinians found the net just six times, failing to score in five of those games. Udinese has remained unbeaten in their last five away matches against Cagliari in Serie A, achieving three victories and two draws, and they have never experienced six consecutive away games without a loss against the Sardinians in this league, matching a similar record from 1981 to 1993 (1 win, 4 draws).

Cagliari won their last league match (2-0 against Hellas Verona) and have not won two consecutive games in Serie A since March 2024, with Claudio Ranieri on the bench; furthermore, the Sardinians have kept three clean sheets in their last five games, as many times as in the previous 30.

\Cagliari have lost eight of their 17 home games played so far in Serie A, less than only Hellas Verona (10) and Monza (11); there are four seasons in which the Sardinians have suffered more home defeats, all in the last 10 years: 11 in 2014/15 and 10 in 2017/18, 2020/21 and 2021/22.

Udinese have scored just one goal in their last six Serie A games and none in their last four; the last team to go five games in a row without scoring in a single Serie A season was Empoli, between August and September 2023 (five).

Udinese have lost their last three away games in Serie A and have already suffered four consecutive away defeats in this season, between September and November; this could become the fourth season in which the Bianconeri have had two such long separate negative streaks away from home, after 1958/59, 1961/62 and 2017/18.
