Monza, 20th position with 14 points and a negative goal difference of -22

Torino won the Serie A Week 27 match on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy. Torino secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Monza, showcasing their strength on the field. Elmas found the net in the first half, followed by Casadei’s goal in the second. Monza put in a spirited effort but couldn’t pose a significant threat to their rivals. As a result, Nesta’s squad stays at the bottom of the table, while Torino climbs higher.

In the upcoming match, Monza will take on Inter, while Torino is set to face Parma!

Surely, Monza is feeling the heat as they sit at the bottom of the table with just 14 points and are eager to turn their fortunes around. Monza is looking to bounce back after a tough 4-0 loss to Roma, while Torino comes into the game with momentum from a 2-1 win over Milan.

Fun fact: Monza’s inaugural Serie A match took place on August 13, 2022, where they faced Torino. The game ended in a 2-1 win for Torino at the U-Power Stadium, with Miranchuk and Sanabria scoring for the visitors, while Dany Mota netted a goal for Monza.

Torino struck first in the 41st minute when Eljif Elmas netted a right-footed shot to the center, thanks to an assist from Valentino Lazaro. The sequence highlighted a great transition for Torino, with Vlasic skillfully finding Lazaro, who then set up Elmas. Elmas made a well-timed run and finished with composure, beating goalkeeper Stefano Turati.

Monza is facing difficulties. In the 66th minute, Torino extended their lead to 0-2. Cesare Casadei found the net with a right-footed shot into the top right corner. The play was set up nicely by Adams, who delivered a cross into the box. A mishap by Palacios allowed Casadei to capitalize, showcasing his skill in getting into position and finishing the shot. Casadei celebrates his first goal for Torino. Well done!

Monza has yet to secure a win in their last five encounters with Torino in Serie A, recording three draws and two losses. They have only faced Roma, Lazio, and Lecce more times without a victory in the top division, with six matches against each.

Notably, they have drawn more games against Lecce (four) than they have against Torino (three) in this competition. In this season, Monza has accumulated 14 points. Historically, only one of the 25 teams that have reached a maximum of 14 points after 26 matches in Serie A has managed to avoid relegation: Crotone, who had 13 points at the same stage in the 2016/17 season.

Monza have not scored in their last two games at the U-Power Stadium in the championship, the Brianza team could remain dry of goals in three home games in a row for the first time in Serie A.

Torino have won only two of their last 10 games against teams that at the start of the day occupied the last position in the Serie A standings (5D, 3L), drawing 0-0 in the most recent one on 4 February 2024 against Salernitana.

No team has received more yellow cards than Monza in Serie A 2024/25: 63, tied with Hellas Verona – in fourth place in this ranking is Torino (56, tied with Udinese).
