🏆👉 Napoli shone and won the Champions League Round of 16, Second Leg, against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday 15 March 2023 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, Italy. Napoli prevailed with a dry 3-0 delighting the fans at the Maradona. This is a historic result for Napoli who, also thanks to the 2-0 in the first leg, fly to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in history. Victor Osimhen’s brace and Piotr Zielinski’s goal on a penalty kick sealed the victory.

✅ Stats before the game: Napoli have won their last two meetings with German sides in all European competitions, as many victories as in the previous 12 such ties (D3, L7). The success in the first leg was also the first ever against Eintracht Frankfurt (two defeats previously). Eintracht Frankfurt’s only previous away match against Napoli ended in a 1-0 win, in December 1994, in the round of 16 of the UEFA Cup. Eintracht Frankfurt have scored in all of their three Champions League away games so far (five goals), winning two and losing one. Napoli have scored 22 goals in this Champions League: the last season in which an Italian team scored more goals (excluding goals in table victories, with reference to Milan 2004-05) was 2002-03, with the Juventus who scored 30 goals and Inter 26. Napoli are unbeaten in 11 Champions League home games (W8 D3), winning all three this season.
