Milan conquered the Bentegodi thanks to Sandro Tonali’s decisive goal in the final after the first half ended in a draw, due to the own goal by Miguel Veloso and the goal by Gunter. Milan for the first time in its history would collect at least seven wins in the first 10 matches of a Serie A championship for three consecutive seasons (in 2020/21 eight wins in the top 10, in 2021/22 nine wins in the top 10).
