Italian Soccer Serie A

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2019-2020 Serie A Week 26 RESULTS / Twenty-sixth Round on Saturday 29 February, Sunday 1, 8, Monday 9 March 2020. This will be a surrealistic round because it will conclude until Monday 9 March 2020.

The Lega Serie A postponed 6 games because the Coronavirus alert continues in Italy, originally scheduled for March 1 and 2.  The Minister of Sports Vincenzo Spadafora confirmed the measure especially in the areas affected by the Coronavirus in Northern Italy.   These are the games postponed and will be RECOVERED on Sunday 8 March 2020 Udinese vs Fiorentina, AC Milan vs Genoa, Parma vs SPAL,  and Juventus vs Inter.   Sassuolo vs Brescia will be played on Monday 9 March.

👉 Up to Serie A Week 26: There is a three-way race between Juventus (63), Lazio (62), and Inter (54).

The Serie A leadership remains the same.  Juventus defeating Inter with a 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium reaching 63 points and keeping the first position.  The goals scored by Aaron Ramsey and Paulo Dybala.  The victory of Juventus is the perfect way for Cristiano Ronaldo to celebrate his 1,000th professional football game. Lazio defeated Bologna with a 2-0 reaching 62 points and is in the second position.

⚽️ Serie A Top Scorer up to Week 26:

Napoli defeated Torino with a 2-1 reaching 39 points.  Napoli remain within the European zone in the 6th position.  Torino is in the 15th position with 27 points and the alert is high to start winning to avoid falling down in the relegation zone.   Torino losing their 15th game this season.   This was the 132th game  between Napoli and Torino in Serie A and the 66th game played at the San Paolo with stats of Napoli 28 wins, 30 draws, and Torino with 6 wins.

My goodness sake!  What a goleada!  Atalanta is rocking big time conquering the Via del Mare Stadium. Lecce must have nightmares tonight conceding 7 goals looking just like “stop the killing.”

Cagliari vs AS Roma ended in favor of Roma with a 3-4 at the Sardegna Arena.  Roma reaching 45 points remaining in the 5th position.  Roma being -3 points below Atalanta with 48 points.  Cagliari down to the 11th position with 32 points.

AC Milan failing to win the home game at the San Siro Stadium.  This is a major step back for the Rossoneri on their quest to climb the Serie A Standing towards the top  6 positions to get a spot in the European zone.  Genoa defeated AC Milan with a 1-2.  It is an important victory for Genoa because now they leave the relegation zone climbing from the 18th to the 17th position reaching 25 points.

The changes were clear in the relegation zone.  Genoa living the happy moment after grabbing the away victory against AC Milan and is out of the loop.  The 18th position is now for Lecce with 25 points and a negative goal difference of – 22 after the super defeat against Atalanta.   The 19th position is for SPAL with 18 points climbing from the 20th to the 19th position after defeating Parma at the Ennio Tardini Stadium.

Sassuolo completing the last game of Week 26 on Monday 9 March crushing Brescia with a 3-0.  The highlight of the match included the message of Sassuolo forward Francesco Caputo celebrating his first goal showing a piece of paper with the message: “Everything will be alright, stay home.”  The message in reference to the measure of the Italian government that all games must be played behind closed doors for the Coronavirus alarm.
