Napoli triumphed over Lecce with a score of 1-0, thanks to Giacomo Raspadori’s stunning free kick that secured a crucial win in the Scudetto battle against Inter. Napoli showcased their heart, focus, and determination, prioritizing grit over flashy ball possession. Conte’s squad proved to be a formidable defensive unit, fiercely guarding their 1-0 lead. Lecce struggled to make an impact, with only Gaspar’s shot hitting the crossbar and a few late attempts that lacked real threat. Napoli capitalized on Raspadori’s brilliance and held on for a gritty victory, bringing their points total to 77, three ahead of Inter at 74. Lecce, meanwhile, remains at 27 points, just one above third-from-bottom Venezia

Inter secured a 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona, setting the stage for their Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona. At San Siro, with Simone Inzaghi suspended and Farris coaching from the bench, Asllani scored an early penalty to clinch the win. This result allows the Nerazzurri to keep pace with Napoli, who triumphed earlier today against Lecce. Inter will face Barcelona again on Tuesday, May 6 at 21:00 for the crucial second leg of the Champions League semi-final. Additionally, on Sunday at 18:00, they will compete against Vanoli’s Granata at the Stadio Olimpico – Grande Torino.

Bologna and Juventus played to a 1-1 draw, both finishing with 62 points. Khéphren Thuram opened the scoring, but Remo Freuler leveled the match in the second half. The home side pushed for a winner, yet Alberto Costa squandered a great opportunity from close range.

Roma 1 – 0 Fiorentina. Mission accomplished, Roma has secured 63 points, climbing to fourth place as they await the outcome of Bologna-Juventus. Fiorentina, stuck at 59 points, may have to bid farewell to their hopes of qualifying for the prestigious European tournament. Roma has successfully achieved another victory, winning 1-0 and marking their 19th consecutive positive result in the league.  Dovbyk scored with an assist from Shomurodov, while Svilar made some fantastic saves, helping the Giallorossi earn three crucial points for the Champions League.

Parma 0 – 1 Como. Big disappointment for Parma.  Como continues to impress, achieving its fifth straight Serie A win for the first time ever. Fabregas’ squad also secures its fourth consecutive clean sheet and rises to tenth place with 45 points, surpassing Torino. Parma faced a tough loss despite a solid performance from the team, who had been on a winning streak since March 1st. Chivu’s squad still holds a six-point lead over the team in third-to-last place.

Monza 0 – 4 Atanta.  Total chaos, Monza has officially been relegated to Serie B with three matches remaining, marking the first confirmation of the relegation zone. The Brianza team fell to Atalanta, who finished the first half with a two-goal lead thanks to De Ketelaere’s brace. In the second half, Lookman and Brescianini added to the score. Carnesecchi also played a key role, making several outstanding saves. With 68 points, Atalanta is now very close to securing a Champions League spot and is eagerly awaiting the upcoming matches between Bologna-Juventus and Roma-Fiorentina.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:

Bologna, 5th position with 61 points and a positive goal difference of +15

Nothing to do. The Serie A Week 35 between Bologna and Juventus ended with a draw on Sunday 4 May 2025 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.  Bologna and Juventus shared the points, with Khéphren Thuram scoring first and Remo Freuler equalizing in the second half. The home team pressed for more, but Alberto Costa missed a golden chance from just a couple of steps away.  They reached 62 points each.

Bologna and Juventus have tied their previous last four Serie A encounters, with both teams finding the net in each game. They haven’t had five consecutive draws in the top division since the late 1970s.   This is the first time the rossoblù have been ahead of the bianconeri with three games left in a 20-team Serie A season.

Juventus remains unbeaten in their last 25 Serie A clashes with Bologna, boasting 17 wins and 8 draws, marking their longest unbeaten streak in the league. The last time Bologna triumphed over Juventus in this competition was on February 26, 2011, when they won 2-0 in Turin thanks to Marco Di Vaio’s two goals.

The action …

Juventus got ahead in the 9th minute when Khéphren Thuram found the net with a left-footed shot aimed at the top center. Andrea Cambiaso provided the assist, delivering a winning diagonal from the edge of the box, although Skorupski could have done better.

Bologna leveled the score at 1-1 in the 55th minute when Remo Freuler found the net with a powerful right-footed shot into the bottom right corner. Thijs Dallinga provided the assist with a well-placed header. Cambiaghi delivered a cross, and Dallinga set up the midfielder, who controlled the ball expertly before unleashing a strong shot. A deflection off Veiga prevented Di Gregorio from making the save.

✅  Stats before the game.

Bologna and Juventus have tied their last four Serie A games, with both teams finding the net in each match. They haven’t had five consecutive draws in the top division since 1978 and 1980.

Juventus, after their victory over Monza in the previous match, hasn’t managed to win two consecutive Serie A games since a five-match streak from February to March. The bianconeri have only earned one point (1D, 2P) in their last three away league matches and haven’t experienced four straight away games without a win since the end of last season, where they had a streak of eight.

Juventus is on a remarkable unbeaten run of 25 Serie A matches against Bologna (17 wins, 8 draws), marking their longest streak without a loss in this competition; the last time Bologna triumphed over Juventus in the league was on February 26, 2011, with a score of 0-2 in Turin, thanks to two goals from Marco Di Vaio.

Bologna hasn’t triumphed over Juventus at home in Serie A since November 29, 1998, when they won 3-0 with goals from Michele Paramatti, Giuseppe Signori, and Davide Fontolan. Since that match, they’ve faced each other 21 times at Dall’Ara, resulting in 14 wins for Juventus and seven draws. In the last eight encounters in Emilia-Romagna, Juventus has consistently found the net at least once against Bologna.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AS Roma, 6th position with 60 points and a positive goal difference of +17
Fiorentina, 8th position with 59 points and a positive goal difference of +19

Roma won the Serie A Week 35 on Sunday, May 4, 2024, at the Olimpico Stadium.

Unfortunately for Fiorentina, despite creating several chances in both halves, they were unable to break through the opposing defense.

Roma surged ahead just before halftime in the 45+5′ minute. Artem Dovbyk scored with a header into the bottom left corner after a corner kick given away by goalkeeper David de Gea. The assist came from Eldor Shomurodov, who provided a headed pass.

What an incredible turnout! 63,640 fans at the Olimpico cheering for the Giallorossi!

✅   Stats before the game

Fiorentina has faced Roma more times in Serie A than any other team, resulting in 62 draws out of 171 matches, alongside 58 wins for Roma and 51 for Fiorentina. Interestingly, Roma has had more draws against Fiorentina than any other team in the league, matching their total with Lazio at 62.

Following their impressive 5-1 victory in the first leg on October 27, Fiorentina has a chance to defeat Roma in both Serie A matches this season, something they haven’t done in 60 years since the 2011/12 season.

Fiorentina has gone four league matches without a loss against Roma, with two wins and two draws; they haven’t achieved five or more consecutive matches unbeaten against the Giallorossi in Serie A since the stretch from 1975 to 1979, when they managed nine.

Roma has suffered just three defeats in their last 50 home matches (W31 D16) against Fiorentina in Serie A. The last time the Viola triumphed away against the Giallorossi in the league was on April 7, 2018, with a score of 2-0, thanks to goals from Marco Benassi and Giovanni Simeone. Since that match, the capital team has secured four victories and two draws.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Atalanta, 3rd position with 65 points and a positive goal difference of +36
Monza, 20th position with 15 points and a negative goal difference of -34

Monza lost the Serie A Week 35 match against Atalanta on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy. Monza has been at the bottom of the standings for 19 straight rounds.  Sadly, Monza has officially been relegated to Serie B with 3 matches remaining, marking the first confirmation of the relegation zone.

Monza fell to Atalanta (0-4), who finished the first half with a two-goal lead thanks to De Ketelaere’s brace.

Monza have spent 28 out of the last 31 matchdays in the relegation zone. The Brianza team is currently on a five-match losing streak, and they’ve never lost six in a row in their Serie A history. They aim to secure 18 points to avoid being the team with the least points in a 20-team league during the three-point win era (the record is held by Salernitana with 17 points in the 2023/24 season).

The action …

Atalanta went ahead in the 12th minute when Charles De Ketelaere found the bottom left corner with a left-footed shot. Retegui moved to the right and delivered a pass to Bega, who skillfully maneuvered past Pedro Pereira before scoring with a left-footed shot at the near post.

Another goal scored in the 23rd minute! De Ketelaere nets his second, bringing his championship total to seven! A miscommunication between Castrovilli and Pedro Pereira leaves the ball loose, and De Ketelaere swiftly capitalizes, beating Pizzignacco.

Monza is really struggling! In the 47th minute, Ademola Lookman found the net with a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Mateo Retegui’s header. Lookman has now scored 14 goals in the league. Retegui’s header set up Lookman, who sprinted past Lekovic, who had just entered the game and was still warming up, and managed to beat Pizzignacco at the near post with his left foot.

Atalanta clinched the win in the 89th minute when Marco Brescianini found the net with a right-footed shot to the top right corner, assisted by Mario Pasalic.

✅  Stats before the game

Monza has gathered 15 points in this championship, ranking among the four teams with the fewest points after 34 matches in Serie A’s three-point win era (since 1994/95): Pescara (14 in 2016/17), Ancona (13 in 2003/04), Napoli (14 in 1997/98), and Brescia (12 in 1994/95). They have suffered five consecutive losses in the league, marking a first in their Serie A history without six straight defeats. Interestingly, Monza is the team that Atalanta has faced the most times and won against 100% in Serie A (5/5), with an overall score of 14-3 between the two teams in the top division.

Monza hasn’t found the back of the net in their last three league matches; this could mark the first time in Serie A history that the Brianza team goes four games without scoring in a single season.

Atalanta has accumulated 65 points in this championship, marking their third-best Serie A season after 34 matches, following the 2019/20 season with 71 points and the 2020/21 season with 69 points. Additionally, the team has allowed 31 goals in this tournament, and they have only conceded fewer goals once in their history after 34 games in the top division: in the 1964/65 season, when they conceded just 28 goals.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lazio, 7th position with 60 points and a positive goal difference of +12
Empoli, 19th position with 25 points and a negative goal difference of -27

Empoli lost the Serie A Week 35 on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Carlo Castellani Stadium. Boulaye Dia, clearly the standout player, secures three crucial points for Lazio, who momentarily rises to 4th in the league, surpassing Roma, Bologna, and Juventus all at once. Meanwhile, Empoli extends their winless streak to 20 matches, remaining in second-to-last place with 25 points.

Dia makes the decisive goal within just a minute. Lazio has a goal ruled out in the 52nd minute (Viti scores but was offside initially) and struggles to challenge Mandas further. Colombo and Hysaj receive red cards, while six others are cautioned, resulting in a total of 10 cards issued.

Notably, Lazio is one of four teams in the league, alongside Atalanta, Empoli, and Hellas Verona, that has earned more points on the road than at home. The Biancocelesti have achieved two consecutive away victories and are looking to make it three in a row.  It’s a feat they haven’t accomplished since November 2022 when they won four straight away matches.

Lazio got off to a flying start with a quick goal just one minute in! Boulaye Dia found the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the center. Elseid Hysaj provided the assist with a perfectly timed through ball. Castellanos made a fantastic play that opened up the right side for Hysaj. After a cross from Hysaj, Viti misjudged his intervention, allowing Dia to sneak in behind. He controlled the ball with his chest and then finished with his right foot to make it 1-0 for the biancoceleste.

In the 38th minute, things got chaotic when Empoli’s striker Lorenzo Colombo engaged in a physical battle with Rovella during a long throw from the back. He accidentally kicked Gigot with his leg. It seems unintentional from the footage, but the referee saw it differently, issuing a yellow card followed by a red one.

Lazio is down to 10 players in the 76th minute after Elseid Hysaj is sent off. Sambia maneuvers around him and breaks free on the right wing, prompting number 23 to commit a foul that results in a second warning and a red card.

✅    Stats before the game:

In the past 12 encounters between Empoli and Lazio in Serie A, Lazio has emerged victorious 10 times, with two matches ending in a draw. The last time Empoli triumphed over Lazio in this league was on November 29, 2015, when they won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Lorenzo Tonelli.

Lazio has triumphed in their last five Serie A games at the Castellani against Empoli, netting a total of 10 goals (averaging two per match) and achieving three clean sheets; before this, the Biancocelesti had only managed to win two out of their first nine encounters at the Tuscans’ ground (3 draws, 4 losses).

Empoli hasn’t secured a league victory since December 8 against Hellas Verona, marking a disappointing streak of 19 matches without a win (6 draws, 13 losses), which is now their longest in Serie A history. The Azzurri last triumphed over a team ranked above them in the standings during the final match of the previous season, defeating Roma 2-1.

Lazio is one of four teams in this league (alongside Atalanta, Empoli, and Hellas Verona) that has earned more points on the road than at home. The Biancocelesti are currently on a roll with two away victories and are aiming for a third consecutive win, something they haven’t achieved in Serie A since November 2022, when they managed four in a row.
