Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Hellas Verona, 16th position with 32 points and a negative goal difference of -33
Lecce, 18th position with 27 points and a negative goal difference of -33

What an exciting match! Hellas Verona and Lecce ended the Serie A Week 36 game with a draw on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Italy. The match ended 1-1 which benefits Verona more than Lecce. All the goals were scored in the first half, with Coppola equalizing after Krstovic’s early goal. The second half was much more exciting, as the yellow and blues came out with more intensity and nearly took the lead. Lecce struggled to make an impact in the second half, while for Hellas, this point brings Zanetti’s team closer to their goal, which is still not guaranteed, leaving Giampaolo’s squad in a precarious position.

Giampaolo’s team is focused on one goal: achieving the victory they’ve been longing for since January 31st.

Lecce scored first in the 23rd minute, thanks to Nikola Krstovic’s left-footed shot into the bottom left corner. Tete Morente provided the assist, passing from the edge of the area to Krstovic, who made no mistake in front of Montipò! Verona’s defense was a bit too laid-back in that moment.

Hellas Verona leveled the score in the 40th minute when Diego Coppola headed the ball into the top left corner. Tomás Suslov provided the assist with a free kick from the right, and Coppola’s header sailed over Falcone into the net!

In the first half of this crucial match, each team found the net. Lecce played more convincingly, with Krstovic scoring after a great setup from Tete Morente. Verona responded with a header from Coppola, leveling the score from a free kick by Suslov.

✅   Stats before the game:

Hellas Verona’s impressive run of nine matches without a loss (6 wins, 3 draws) came to an end with a 0-1 defeat to Lecce in their latest Serie A encounter. This could lead to a rare occurrence of back-to-back losses against Lecce, something that hasn’t happened since the 2000-2001 season.

Lecce has yet to win on Hellas Verona’s home ground in Serie A, with a record of four draws and five losses over nine away games, including a 2-2 draw in November 2023. They have also faced Genoa nine times away without a victory.

Buy Serie A tickets

Hellas Verona have lost their last three league matches without scoring; the Gialloblù have not suffered four defeats in a row in general in Serie A since last November-December, while they have not lost four consecutive matches without scoring since March 2014, with Andrea Mandorlini on the bench.

Hellas Verona have failed to score in 10 of their 17 home games this season and could go without scoring in more home games for the first time in their history in a single Serie A tournament (10 also in 1988/89).

Lecce have not won in 12 league games (D4 L8) – the last success for the Salento team dates back to January 31st at Parma (3-1) – and could go without a win in more games in a row for the first time in the tournament since 16 consecutive games between November 1997 and March 1998.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Monza, 20th position with 15 points and a negative goal difference of -38
Udinese, 12th position with 44 points and a negative goal difference of -11

Udinese  lost the Serie A Week 36 match against Monza on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, Italy.  Even though Monza has already been mathematically relegated to Serie B, they proudly secured a victory and earned 3 points for the first time in 4 months. Udinese, on the other hand, remains at 44 points in 12th place, tied with Torino but having played one game less.

Monza celebrates a victory after nearly four months at Udinese’s ground: the first half ended in a goalless draw, despite several chances for the Bianconeri. Gianluca Caprari finally puts Monza ahead in the second half. Runjaic’s squad quickly responds, and after three near misses, they equalize thanks to Lorenzo Lucca. In the final moments, Keita Baldé, returning from injury, nets the decisive goal.

The Friulians have secured their safety for a few weeks now, thanks to their solid performance this season.

In the upcoming matchday, Udinese will take on Juventus in Turin, and Monza will face Empoli, who are fighting for survival.

In the 52nd minute, Monza took the lead when Gianluca Caprari found the net from just a few feet away, sending the ball into the bottom left corner. After Birindelli’s attempt hit the post, Caprari was quick to react and scored the opening goal with his shoulder!

Udinese leveled the score in the 75th minute when Lorenzo Lucca found the back of the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Jesper Karlström. It was a fantastic goal taking advantage of a mistake by Akpa Akpro, who allowed Karlström to take the ball. Lucca then outmuscled Carboni and volleyed it into the corner with his right foot!

Monza clinched the win in the 90th minute with a right-footed shot from Keita Baldé that found the center of the net. Kevin Zeroli provided the assist. Nesta’s squad is back in the lead! Zeroli’s cross from the left found Baldé unmarked at the far post, and he made no mistake in front of goal!

✅   Stats before the game:

Udinese are unbeaten against Monza in Serie A, with two wins and three draws. There are only three teams against whom the Bianconeri have played more games without losing in the competition: Pescara (eight), Alessandria (six) and Pisa (six).

Udinese and Monza have both drawn the Bianconeri’s home games in Serie A: 2-2 in April 2023, 0-0 in February 2024 – against no team have the Brianza side drawn three away games in the competition so far.

After a run of five consecutive defeats, Udinese have obtained four points from their two most recent Serie A games; the Bianconeri have failed to score in five of these last seven matches, as many times as in the previous 23. Udinese have failed to score in their last three home Serie A games (1D, 2L) and have not done worse in a single championship since 1993/94, when they reached five points between October and January.

Buy Serie A tickets

Monza are stuck on 15 points in 35 games this championship. The last team to end a Serie A season with 15 or fewer points was Ancona in 2003/04 (13) – in a 20-team championship that would be a negative record (currently represented by Salernitana’s 17 in 2023/24). Sadly, Monza have lost all of their last 10 away games in Serie A and the last team to do worse away from home was Benevento in 2017/18, who reached 15 consecutive away defeats.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Parma, 14th position with 32 points and a negative goal difference of -14
Empoli, 19th position with 25 points and a negative goal difference of -28

👉 Empoli won the Serie A Week 36 match defeating Parma on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Carlo Stellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy.  Currently, Parma holds the 15th position with 32 points, sitting 5 points clear of the relegation zone. Empoli is in 17th place with 28 points, just 1 point above the danger zone. However, with Verona facing Lecce and Venezia up against Fiorentina on Sunday, the situation could shift dramatically if either Salento or Lagunari secures a win.

Empoli earned a well-deserved victory, even though their second-half performance could have been better. Fazzini scored, but Djuric equalized for Parma despite their one-player disadvantage. Then Anjorin brought his magic to the game. As always, it’s the key moments and the skills of the top players that determine the outcome. Meanwhile, Parma remains in a tough spot. They could have secured their safety with a win tonight, but Chivu’s team still has work to do. This victory also ends Empoli’s long stretch of 20 matches without a win, with their last victory dating back to December 8 against Verona, where they won 4-1. It’s been a while since they last won at home, but now the curse is lifted, and Empoli is fighting for survival in the final stretch.

Empoli will return to the field on May 18 (there is no time yet) when they will challenge Monza, already relegated. Parma will instead face Napoli, who are fighting for the Scudetto.

The action…

Empoli gained the upper hand in the 11th minute when Jacopo Fazzini found the net with a right-footed strike into the top right corner. The assist came from Liam Henderson, who delivered a cross after a corner awarded to Lautaro Valenti. This set piece gave the Tuscans an edge in a match that had been tightly contested due to the stakes involved. Fazzini’s impressive shot, set up by Henderson, outsmarted goalkeeper Suzuki.

Parma leveled the score in the 73rd minute.  Milan Djuric headed the ball into the bottom right corner, assisted by Hernani. It was an amazing equalizer for the Ducali, with Djuric scoring from a free kick. However, there may be a concern about Bonny’s potential offside, as he didn’t touch the ball but did interfere with Vasquez.

Empoli clinched the winning goal in the 86th minute. Tino Anjorin fired a right-footed shot into the top right corner, assisted by Ismael Konaté. With Konaté’s pass, Anjorin regained the lead for Empoli, delivering an unstoppable right-footed strike past Suzuki. The play began with Fazzini, who persisted despite the visitors’ temporary equalizer.

Stats before the game

Empoli and Parma have drawn four of their last six Serie A games, with a win each completing the streak; before this run they had never shared the spoils in their previous 13 top-flight games.

Here is the situation. Empoli have drawn their last three home Serie A games against Parma; for the Tuscans this is their longest open streak of home draws against a single opponent in the competition (three also against Fiorentina).  Empoli have not won in Serie A since 8 December against Hellas Verona and since then they are the only team not to have obtained a single win in the competition – the Tuscans have collected six points in the period, only Monza (five) have done worse.

In this championship Empoli have won only one home game (7D, 9L) and no team in the current top five European leagues has done worse (one home win each for Monza, Ipswich Town and Southampton).

Parma have drawn six of their last eight league games (W1 L1), as many draws as in their previous 22 games in the competition (W4 L12).

Parma have not won away from home in Serie A since 9 November against Venezia (D5 L6) and in particular they have drawn all of their last four away games in the tournament; the Gialloblu have never achieved five draws in a row away from home in the competition.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Bologna, 7th position with 62 points and a positive goal difference of +15
AC Milan, 9th position with 57 points and a positive goal difference of +16

AC Milan defeated Bologna in Serie A Week 36 on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez shine as Milan turns the tables on Bologna. This is a tough setback for Bologna as they eye the Champions League and prepare for the Coppa Italia final against Milan at the Olimpico. Milan now sits at 60 points, just 2 points shy of the rossoblù.

The score stands at 3-1, and despite Orsolini’s goal in the 49th minute, Italiano’s team couldn’t catch up. In the second half, Conceiçao brings in Gimenez, who transforms the game: he energizes the Rossoneri’s offense and nets the equalizer in the 73rd minute. This moment reignites Milan’s spirit, and just six minutes later, Pulisic puts them ahead. Finally, in the 92nd minute, Gimenez seals the deal with his second goal, putting the game out of reach.

Bologna gained the advantage in the 49th minute when Riccardo Orsolini found the net with a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner. Thijs Dallinga provided the assist with a header. Orsolini, wearing the number 7 jersey for the rossoblù, received Dallinga’s pass on the right, made a move towards Pavlovic, then returned and aimed for the far post, successfully hitting the corner.

AC Milan leveled the score in the 73rd minute when Santiago Giménez found the net with a left-footed shot to the center, assisted by Christian Pulisic. Milan ties the game with Giménez’s goal! Bologna was caught off guard during a counterattack, allowing Giménez to slide the ball under Skorupski’s legs, making it 1-1.

In the 79th minute, Milan turned the game around. Captain America, Christian Pulisic, found the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner. Chukwueze skillfully maneuvered the ball on the left, passing it to Joao Felix, whose attempt was blocked but fell back to Pulisic, who scored with a quick shot. Bologna had made their comeback in just six minutes.

The final whistle blows, and the celebration begins for the Rossoneri. In the 92nd minute, Santiago Giménez netted a goal with a right-footed shot to the center, assisted by Samuel Chukwueze. Chukwueze initiates the play and sets up Giménez, who converts it into a goal, completing his brace and bringing the score to 3-1 in favor of Milan.

Stats before the game:

Bologna have earned 62 points so far in the league and can potentially still surpass their record at the end of the season in the three points for a win era (68 in 2023/24). They currently have 16 wins, while in the last Serie A, at this point, they had collected 17.
