Italian Soccer Serie A

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2019-2020 Serie A Week 25 RESULTS / Twenty-fifth Round on Friday 21, Saturday 22, and Sunday 23 February 2020.

👉 Up to Serie A Week 25: There is a three-way race between Juventus (60), Lazio (59), and Inter (54).

First of all, let me tell you, that the Italian Government took the measure to cancel events in the region of Veneto and Lombardy.  The Coronavirus alarm in Italy sending the emergency measure. The Italian government takes this action to avoid the spread of the virus claiming already 79 confirmed cases including 2 deaths in Italy. The games postponed are Atalanta vs Sassuolo, Inter vs Sampdoria, Hellas Verona vs Cagliari, and Torino vs Parma.

The status quo of the Serie A in the leadership remains the same.  Juventus is the sole leader reaching 60 points after defeating SPAL with a 2-1.  The main highlight of this match is the celebration of Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo playing his 1,000 professional games.  The celebration for Cristiano at its best because he also scored a goal.   Surely, Cristiano never stop surprising football fans.  Cristiano adding another record in this game scoring  for an 11th straight league game in the Serie A.  The record was set by forward Gabriel Batistuta in 1994 and equalized by forward Fabio Quagliarella last season.

Bad news is for SPAL because they remain in the last position of the Serie A.  It seems SPAL not finding their way for salvation to remain in the Serie A next season.  Something must be done in the next few games….

⚽️ Serie A Top Scorer up to Week 25:
Lazio forward Ciro Immobile with 26 goals

Serie A tickets

Lazio super motivated keeping up the race for the Scudetto very tight.  Lazio defeated Genoa with a 2-3 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.  Lazio reaching 59 points is only -1 point below Juventus with 60.  The super hero and absolute king is forward Ciro Immobile scoring a goal while being the top scorer of the Serie A wiht 26 goals.

Fiorentina and AC Milan ended with a draw.  The draw is more like a failure for AC Milan because they were leading and their objective was to claim all 3 points.  Fiorentina remaining with 10 players in the 62nd minute. Referee Calvarese sent off with a red card Dalbert after a foul on Zlatan Ibrahimovic.  Simply put, AC Milan once again disappointing the fans failing to win despite having an extra player for almost 30 minutes.  Fiorentina saved at least 1 point when Erick Pulgar converted a penalty in the 85th minute.

Bologna and Udinese also ending with a draw.

Napoli with a boost to the morale of the squad after defeating Brescia with a 1-2.  Napoli rushing to climb up the Serie A dreaming with the objective to reach the European Zone.  Napoli reached 36 points while Brescia remain in the relegation zone with 16 points.

AS Roma giving a tough lesson to Lecce at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.  Roma crushed Lecce with a poker and a clean sheet 4-0.  Roma reaching 42 points in the 5th position while Lecce remain in the 19th position losing their 17 game this season.

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2019-2020 Serie A Week 24 RESULTS / Twenty-fourth Round on Saturday 15, Sunday 16, and Monday 17 February 2020.

👉 Up to Serie A Week 24: There is a three-way race between Juventus (57), Lazio (56), and Inter (54)

What an exciting round!  We have a change in the top 3 positions.   Juventus is the sole leader of the Serie A with 57 points after defeating Brescia with a 2-0 with at the Allianz Stadium.    Bad news is for Inter who were neck to neck with Juventus.  Here is where the thriller comes.  The direct encounter between Lazio vs Inter ended in favor of Lazio making a comeback after being down by a goal to claim the victory with a 2-1.  The victory helped Lazio to overtake the second position reaching 56 points being now only -1 point below Juventus.   The defeat sent Inter down to the third position remaining with 54 points.  It seems the real threat for Juventus is Lazio not Inter.  Oh well….. let’s see what happens next round.

⚽️ Serie A Top Scorer up to Week 24:
Lazio forward Ciro Immobile with 25 goals

Serie A tickets

Another bad news is for Cagliari not only losing the game  against Napoli, but also losing the 6th position going down to the 11th position remaining with 32 points. Ouch!   Napoli climbed to the 8th position reaching 33 points.  The game ended Cagliari 0 – 1 Napoli.

Atalanta and Roma dueling to remain within the European zone.  Good news for both because the status quo remain the same.  Although Atalanta defeated 2 – 1 Roma, they kept the 4th and 5th position, respectively.

Udinese and Hellas Verona ended with a goalless draw sharing 1 point each.  However, the smiling face is for Hellas Verona because they climbed to the 6th position which is within the European zone.

The relegation zone remains the same with Genoa, Brescia and SPAL in the last positions.  A ray of hope is for Genoa seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after defeating Bologna with a 0-3 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.   Genoa claiming all 3 points and dreaming with salvation.  For the moment, Genoa remain in the 18th position with 22 points.  Genoa might leave the relegation zone in the next round…
