Sampdoria falling and living an early nightmare in this 2020-2021 Season.  Benevento conquering the Marassi winning the Serie A Week 2 game defeating Sampdoria on Saturday 26 September 2020 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genova, Italy.  Surely, this is an ideal debut for Benevento after their promotion from the Serie B.   It’s definitely a double joy for Benevento Coach Flippo Inzaghi and Captain Luca Caldirola scoring two goals.

Sampdoria opening the score in the 8th minute for the 1-0.  It is forward Fabio Quagliarella to defeat Benevento goalkeeper Montipò from very close range with a right footed shot in the center.  The assist is by Federico Bonazzoli.   What a moment for Qua Qua Qua Quagliarellaaaaaaaa

Sampdoria increasing the score in the 18th minute.  It is Omar Colley to smack a headed shot from very close range in the top right corner.  The assist is by Antonio Candreva with a cross following a corner conceded by Luca Caldirola.

The moment for redemption.  In the 32nd minute, Luca Caldirola defeating Sampdora goalkeeper Emil Audero with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner following a corner conceded by Audero.  It is Caldirola’s first goal in the Serie A, a total joy for him and teammates.

In the 72nd minute, it is again Luca Caldirola pushing Benevento’s bandwagon equalizing for the 2-2.  Caldirola scoring with a headed shot from very close range in the bottom right corner.   The assist s by Gianluca Caprari with a cross following a corner conceded by Morten Thorsby.   Benevento believing in a miracle.

Chaos for Sampdoria losing control without finding their way out.  Benevento overturning the result and going for the final 2-3.  The hero is Gaetano Letizia giving Benevento the victory scoring with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.  The assist is by Marco Sau.

⚽️  Fiorentina surprising Inter in the 3rd minute.  It is Christian Kouamé to defeat Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic from very close range with a right footed shot in the center.  The assist is by midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura.  What a way to start the game sending the clear message to Inter “No Fear.”

 

In the 21st minute, Referee Gianpaolo Calvarese changed his decision after awarding a penalty to Inter.  The decision changed after consulting the VAR stating “No Penalty.”  The fault is by Fiorentina defender Martín Cáceres on Inter forward Lauro Martinez. Cáceres got a yellow card.

The first game of the 2020-2021 Season was Fiorentina vs Torino on Saturday 19 September at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.  The victory was for Fiorentina after the goal by defender Gaetano Castrovilli to become also the first to score in this season.    One goal was enough to grab the victory and claim all 3 points.  We must say that Torino put up a strong front with goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu and this time Torino star forward Andrea Belotti could not score.   Fiorentina 1 -0 Torino.

The second game   ended with a goalless draw.  Hellas Verona were not favorites to win.  Yet, this draw is more a flop for AS Roma failing to score and not winning the away game under the new Friedkin Era.  Hellas Verona avoided the fall and grab 1 point at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.

Juventus, the reigning Italy’s Champions, making their 2020-2021 Season debut with a convincing victory.  Juventus win the Serie A Week 1 defeating Sampdoria with a 3-0 on Sunday 20 September 2020 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.  The debut also for Dejan Kulusevski scoring a goal, then, Bonucci, and sealing the victory was Cristiano Ronaldo.

A mega start for Genoa with a poker at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.  Genoa defeating newly promoted team Crotone with a 4-1.  Surely, this is not a good sign for Crotone who will have to archive this humiliation and win their next game to boost the morale of the team and fans.  The journey in Serie A for Crotone for the moment is uphill.

Napoli Coach Gennaro Gattuso must be delighted with his team winning the away game at the Ennio Tardini Stadium.  Napoli defeated Parma with a 2-0.  Good start for Napoli and the smile is set.  The highlight of the match is Captain Lorenzo Insigne playing his 350th game with Napoli and what a way to celebrate than by scoring a goal!!!!  Yep, Insigne sealed the victory scoring for the 2-0 in the 77th minute.

AC Milan starting the season with forward Zlatan Ibrahimović scoring 2 goals in the first game sending an optimistic message to the fans.  AC Milan giving a headache to Bologna unable to react.  The objective for AC Milan this season is to make it to the top 4 to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.   We see the debut of young Sandro Tonnali in the 77th minute replacing Franck Kessié.

AC Milan starting the 2020-2021 Season with a high note.  AC Milan win the Serie A Week 1 game defeating Bologna on Monday 21 September 2020 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.  Bologna failing to react and will have to archive fast this defeat.  We must say that AC Milan played a convincing game.  The debut also for Sandro Tonnali starting as a sub in the 77th minute replacing Franck Kessié.

It is AC Milan to open the score in the 35th minute.  Forward Zlatan Ibrahimović defeating Bologna goalkeeper Skorupski with a headed shot in the bottom right corner.  Ibrahimović jumping high enough between two defenders for the final shot while Skorupski attempted to save with a super stretch. The assist is by Theo Hernández.

The party is on in San Siro! AC Milan increasing the score for the 2-0 in the 51st minute. Referee La Penna giving a penalty to AC Milan conceded by Riccardo Orsolini after committing a foul on Ismael Bennacer inside the penalty area. It is Zlatan Ibrahimović to take the spot and converting the penalty with a right footed shot to delight the fans. Good start!

Bologna remaining with 10 players in the 88th minute.  Referee La Penna giving a second yellow card to Mitchell Dijks after a foul on Alexis Saelemaekers .

Parma starting the 2020-2021 Season with the wrong foot.  Parma lost the Serie A Week 1  game defeated by Napoli on Sunday 20 September 2020 at the Ennio Tardini Stadium in Parma, Italy.  Napoli conquered the Tardini grabbing this important away victory to claim all 3 points.

Surely, this is a sour debut for Parma Coach Fabio Liverani and a disappointment for new Parma owner Kyle Krause.   The party is all for Napoli Coach Gennaro Gattuso starting the season with the right foot.  The highlight of the match is Captain Lorenzo Insigne playing his 350th game with Napoli and what a way to celebrate than by scoring a goal!!!!
