AC Milan have won 7 of their last 10 Serie A matches against Genoa (D2 L1), after losing four of their previous five against Genoa in the competition (W1).   AC Milan have kept a clean sheet in each of their last 5 league games.  Stefano Pioli could become just the third manager in AC Milan history to collect at least six clean sheets in a row in a single Serie A season, after Fabio Capello (twice in 1993/94: seven and nine) and Nereo Rocco (seven in 1971/72).   Milan could fail to find the net in three consecutive league games for the first time since January 2020, while only twice have they played out three successive goalless draws in the competition: in January 1994 and in April 1936.

There are 6 more games (meaning 18 points) to end the season.   Mathematically speaking, Juventus, despite being – 8 points below AC Milan with 67 points in the 1st place, are still alive for the race of the Scudetto along with Inter and Napoli.   We might say this will be a key moment for the top 3 after Milan dropped 2 points in San Siro following the draw with Bologna. Realistically, Napoli and Inter are the main contenders against Milan.  The mission for salvation is for Cagliari, Venezia, Genoa, and Salernitana.

A flop for AC Milan dropping another 2 points. AC Milan failed to win ending with a goalless draw against Torino.  The draw gives only 1 point to Milan reaching 68 points keeping the sole leadership. AC Milan losing a total of 4 points with these two consecutive goalless top-flight matches for the first time since February 2021: two losses against Spezia and Inter on that occasion.  In the next round, Milan will face Genoa in San Siro while Torino will play the away game against Lazio.  Torino stops Milan, another missed opportunity for the Rossoneri to extend the standings over Napoli and Inter having only a 2 point lead.

A black Sunday for Napoli losing the Serie A Week 32 game defeated by Fiorentina at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.  With this defeat, Napoli lost the opportunity to overtake AC Milan in the standings.   Napoli and Inter share the same 66 points.   Napoli also lost the 2nd position because Inter have a better goal difference 41 compared to Napol with 32.  Napoli will visit Roma at the Olimpico in the next round. Fiorentina who, on the other hand, temporarily moves to one point from Roma and in the next round they will challenge Venezia at home.

Juventus  defeated Cagliari at the Unipol Domus.  Juventus reached 62 points and the objective is to be within the Champions League zone next season. Now the race to salvation is totally rekindled, Cagliari will have to pay attention to the results of Venezia and Genoa tomorrow. Juventus gets up after the k.o. inside against Inter losing the Derby d’Italia. Allegri’s team, after having gone behind thanks to the splendid goal of João Pedro, turns the tide of the match with tenacity and vehemence. At the end of the first half, de Ligt, headed on Juan Cuadrado’s perfect suggestion, thinks about putting things on a par. In the second half, after 75 minutes, Dušan Vlahović scored the match-winner goal that is worth three precious points.

Inter push the pedal defeating Hellas Verona at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Italy.  This victory is a motivation for Inter keeping alive the race for the Scudetto having a pending game to recover.  Inter reached 66 points.

AS Roma defeated Salernitana at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.  Roma can smile following victories against Lazio and Sampdoria.  Roma making a comeback, Salernitana surrenders (2-1) after taking the lead in the first half with a goal from Radovanovic.  In the second half at 81 ‘Carles Perez scores the equalizer, at 85’ Smalling scored the winner goal. In the next round,  Roma will face Napoli at the Maradona, Salernitana will play away from home against Sampdoria.

Empoli and Spezia ended with a goalless draw at the Carlo Castellani Stadium.  It’s a good point for Empoli and Spezia, which are getting closer and closer to the goal of salvation.  Empoli, the series of games without a win is extended to 15, but the 12 points advantage over Genoa third from bottom put the team led by Andreazzoli at ease.  Spezia, on the other hand, it’s 15th at +11 on the red zone.  In the next round, Empoli will be on stage at the Dacia Arena against Udinese, while Spezia will host Inter.

Sassuolo defeated Atalanta at the Mapei Stadium.   Atalanta scored the honor goal in the agonizing 93rd minute following Ruan’s error with Luis Muriel smacking a goal. Atalanta losing 3 precious points and are now in 8th place with 51 points, albeit with one game less. Sassuolo, on the other hand, surpasses Hellas Verona and climbs to 9th place with 46 points. Next weekend Sassuolo will visit Cagliari, while Atalanta will host Hellas Verona after the Europa League Quarterfinals match against Leipzig.

Udinese win the Triveneto Derby.  Venezia emergency for points sound loud and clear.  Venezia defeated by Udinese at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium in Venezia, Italy.   On the thirty-third day,  Venezia will visit Fiorentina while Udinese team will host Empoli.  Venezia and Udinese face in a Serie A game at the Penzo Stadium for the first time since 16th December 2001, 7420 days later.  Venezia are unbeaten in four home Serie A games against Udinese with three wins and a draw, sadly, losing today. Bye, bye record.

Bologna defeated Sampdoria at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.  A great game by Marko Arnautovic with his two goals he has become the third Austrian player to have scored 10+ goals in a single Serie A campaign, after Engelbert Koenig for Lazio in 1946/47 and Ernst Ocwirk for Sampdoria in 1956/57 (12 goals both). Coach Siniša Mihajlović is undergoing leukemia treatment in his place it is vice-coach Miiroslav Tanjga.  This is a great victory for the morale of the team and fans.  Forza Mihajlović!   Bologna climbed from the 14th to the 13th position reaching 37 points.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sampdoria, 16th position with 29 points and a negative goal difference of -13
Bologna, 14h position with 34 points and a negative goal difference of -12

Bologna win the Serie A Week 32 game defeating Sampdoria on Monday 11 April 2022 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy.

In the next round, Bologna will face Juventus at the Allianz Stadium and Sampdoria will host Salernitana at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.

Unfortunately for Coach Marco Giampaolo could not win his 100th Serie A game as a coach – beating Bologna in this round, his 100th success would arrive 6035 days after his first (October 2, 2005, with Ascoli): in the three-points for a win era, only Edoardo Reja would have taken longer between his first and 100th win in the competition (6107 days).

Bologna opened the score in the 61st minute. It is Marko Arnautovic to defeat Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero from very close range with a left-footed shot to the center. Hickey puts an inviting ball at the far post for Dijks to insert on the left. The rossoblu winger puts his foot in the middle of a cross that Arnautovic just has to push inside. Bam!

Bologna just rocking with an inspired Marko Arnautovic!   In the 76th minute, the Rossoblu striker starts the offensive transition of Bologna, touching from the outside towards Dijks. Cross to the near post, Yoshida’s mistake in disengagement, and Arnautovic who closes with his right: double for the Austrian center forward!

✅ Stats before the game.  Bologna and Sampdoria playing their 100th game in Serie A:  Bologna 38 wins, 30 draws, and Sampdoria 31 wins.  The last draw in this fixture was in January 2014 (1-1 – Gabbiadini and Diamanti).  Bologna have won each of their last six Serie A clashes against Sampdoria, netting at least two goals in each of those games – only twice have Bologna recorded a longer streak against a single opponent in the competition: eight wins against Casale between 1931 and 1934; seven victories against Genoa between 1938 and 1941.  Sampdoria last won at Bologna in Serie A back in November 2003 (1-0 with Cristiano Doni’s first goal with the club): since then, seven victories for Bologna – including the most recent six – and five draws.   Sampdoria have not drawn any of their last 12 Serie A games (W3, D9) – their longest run without a draw in the competition since July 2020 (16).
Bologna have scored just four goals in the opening 30 minutes of Serie A games this season, the lowest tally in the division and 10 fewer than Sampdoria (14) – however 10 is also the difference of goals conceded in that period, but in favour of Rossoblù (Sampdoria conceded 20; Bologna 10).

Bologna (3-5-2): Skorupski; Soumaoro, Medel, Theate; Hickey, Aebischer, Schouten, Svanberg, Dijks; Barrow, Arnautovic.

Sampdoria (4-3-1-2): Audero; Bereszynski, A. Ferrari, O. Colley, Murru; Candreva, Rincon, Thorsby; Sensi, Sabiri, Caputo.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AC Milan, 1st position with 67 points and a positive goal difference of +27
Torino, 11th position with 38 points and a positive goal difference of +5

A flop for AC Milan dropping another 2 points. AC Milan failed to win the Serie A Week 32 game against Torino. The draw gives only 1 point to Milan reaching 68 points keeping the sole leadership on Sunday 10 April 2022 at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy.   AC Milan having lost 2 points last week after a 0-0 draw with Bologna repeating the same score with Torino.  Simply put,AC Milan remain goalless for two consecutive top-flight matches for the first time since February 2021: two losses against Spezia and Inter on that occasion.in the next round, Milan will face Genoa in San Siro while Torino will play the away game against Lazio.

It was a hard-fought match, with both teams close to scoring: Milan Goalkeeper Mike Maignan overcame Vojvoda on a round shot, Tonali from a good position engages with the left-footed Torino goalkeeper Berisha. Torino stops Milan, another missed opportunity for the Rossoneri to extend the standings over Napoli and Inter.
