👉 Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Udinese, 9th position with 1 point and a goal difference of “0”
Venezia, 19th position with 0 points and a negative goal difference of -2

✅ Here is Udinese vs Venezia preview for the Serie A Week 2 on Friday 27 August 2021 at the Dacia Arena in Udine, Italy at 18:30.

Udinese will have to target for the home victory after last week 2-2 draw with Juventus.  Udinse will have to be fully concentrated to claim this victory.   The last time Udinese faced Venezia was in 2002. Udinese and Venezia have played 6 games against each other, Udinese 2 wins, Venezia wins, and 2 draws.

The last meeting between the two Italian sides ended in a 1-0 away win for Venezia. Riccardo Bocalon scored the only goal of the game.

Challenge is more for promoted Serie B team Venezia to claim their first victory.   Venezia lost last week against Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium with a 2-0.  An ideal result for Venezia could be a draw if any point to claim instead of losing all three. Venezia might become the first newly-promoted team to win an away match on a Friday in the Italian Serie A.   Empoli and Salernitana still looking for their victories too.

On paper, Udinese favorites to win the home game.   Roberto Pereyra has scored four goals in Udinese’s last three competitive games, three of them after the 50th minute. Also a potential late threat, Francesco Forte, Venezia’s top scorer last term, netted none of his last five competitive strikes earlier than first-half injury time.

Match Officials

Referee Marinelli will be assisted by Filippo Meli from the section of Parma and Marcello Rossi from the section of Novara. The fourth official will be Niccolò Baroni from the section of Firenze. The VAR will be Paolo Mazzoleni from the section of Bergamo and the AVAR will be Alessandro Costanzo from the section of Orvieto.

👉 Here is Sampdoria vs AC Milan preview for the Serie A Week 1 on Monday 23 August 2021 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy at 20:45.

Sampdoria and AC Milan will play their 127th game in Serie A. Stats are in favor of AC Milan with 65 wins, 31 draws, and Sampdoria with 30 wins.  Stats for games in Ligura are 63 times: 25 wins for AC Milan, 19 wins Sampdoria, and 19 draws.  AC Milan have won both of their last two away games against Sampdoria in Serie A.   Milan have only once won three consecutive away matches against Sampdoria in 1968, in a run that was extended to four.

Sampdoria finished last season in the 9th position for the third time in four Serie A leagues.  The challenge for Sampdoria is to rebuild the team and the task is for new Coach Roberto D’Aversa.  AC Milan need consistency compared to last season after leading the first position for weeks to end up in the 2nd position with 79 points being -12 points below Inter winner of the 2020-21 Scudetto with 91 points.

Motivation for AC Milan is high after their qualification to the UEFA Champions League since for the first time since 2012/13.   AC Milan set a new all-time record for away wins in a Serie A season (16), a record that other team has bettered across Europe’s top-five leagues in a single campaign. Inter had the previous record in 2006/07 with 15 wins.

Coach Pioli has lost 4 opening away matches across the last six seasons while winning 2.  Sampdoria, most likely, will rely on forward  Fabio Quagliarella, ending as Sampdoria’s top scorer with 13 goals last season plus celebrating his 500th appearance in the final game. On On the other hand, AC Milan will rely on new signings goalkeeper Mike Maignan, Olivier Giroud, and Alessandro Florenzi.  Maignan kept more clean sheets (21) in 2020/21 than any other goalkeepers in Europe’s Top-5 leagues.  Giroud  could become the 15th Frenchmen to score a Serie A goal for Milan having the most French goalscorers ever in Serie A.

AC Milan haven’t conceded a single goal in their last five league games; the last time they kept at least six clean sheets in a row in Serie A was in February 1994 (nine in that case with Fabio Capello at the helm).

AC Milan have drawn just one of their last 15 Day 1 games in Serie A: 2-2 in September 2011 against Lazio (W8, D6).

A special game for Ante Rebić’s making his 150th in Europe’s Top-5 leagues in case of playing.

👉 Here are Udinese vs Juventus probable lineups:

Subs: Falcone, Depaoli, Ferrari, Chabot, Murillo, Silva, Jankto, Askildsen, Verre, Torregrossa, De Luca, Caprari.

👉 Here is the preview for Bologna vs Salernitana.   Bologna looking to win the Serie A Week 1 game against Salernitana on Sunday 22 August 2021 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy.  Newly promoted Salernitana enjoying this gala debut and will target for the victory.

Bologna have won just one of their last 11 Serie A season openers having 1 win, 4 draws, and losing 6. Salernitana finished in the second position in Serie B last season promoted to the Serie A for the first time in 23 years and just the third time ever.   Bologna ended in the 12th position with 41 points and a negative goal difference of -14 just 1 point below Genoa with 42 points.

Salernitana having a challenge to improve their attack as last season they ended in the top  tenth top-scorers in the Serie B.   Problem now is that top-scorer Gennaro Tutino left after the expiration of his loan.  The pressure now is for new signings Nwanwko Simy and Federico Bonazzoli.

Salernitana ended their last Serie A campaing -20 years ago –  with 4 wins, 3 draws, and 1 lost.  One of those wins was precisely against Juventus.   Salernitana’s Joel Obi scored his last Serie A goal in November 2018 against Bologna, while playing for Chievo Verona.

Seven of the previous 9 newly-promoted sides that have lost a Serie A away campaign opener have failed to score before half time.  Will Salernitana break this stat?

👉 Here is Udinese vs Juventus preview for the Serie A Week 1 game on Sunday 22 August 2021 at the Dacia Arena in Udine, Italy at 18:30.

Last season Udinese ended in the 14th position with 40 points and a negative goal difference of -16 goals.  The challenge is for Coach Luca Gotti to overturn the negative performance.  Udinese won only two games from their final 12 games of 2020/21.

On the other hand, Juventus is set to reclaim their dominion in Serie A after losing their solo run in the Scudetto.  Juventus stopped by Inter winner of the 2020-21 Scudetto.  Juventus winning the Serie A for nine consecutive seasons failing to be even among the top 3 teams.

Juventus  ended in the 4th position with 78 points same as with Atalanta in the 3rd position.  Juventus are with new Coach Massimiliano Allegri replacing Andrea Pirlo.  Cristiano Ronaldo still with the team among rumors of transferring.  Cristiano was the top Serie A scorer with 29 goals and the valuable leading force.

We might say that this opener game is important for both and a draw will be a valuable point for Udinese at the Dacia Arena.  Sour note for Udinese without Rodrigo De Paul and goalkeeper Juan Musso.   De Paul transferred to Atletico Madrid on a permanent €35m deal.   Musso joined Atalanta on a permanent €20m deal.

Stats in favor of Juventus winning their last five Serie A  season openers, although their last opening day defeat was precisely versus Udinese!    Juventus with 37 wins, 7 draws, and Udinese with 9 wins of their last 53 games.

Udinese with a boost to the morale of the team after advancing from their Coppa Italia against Ascoli thanks to the last weekend’s 3-1 victory at Dacia Arena.  However the season prior to that nine-season Scudetto streak saw them finish in seventh.  Challenge is for Udinese defender Nahuel Molina who scored the opener in the last head to head, and scoring in Coppa Italia win last week against Ascoli in the 53rd minute.  Juve’ntus forward Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace in both head to head against Udinese last season.  Will he do it again?

👉 Here are Udinese vs Juventus probable lineups:

UDINESE (3-5-2): Silvestri; Becao, Nuytinck, Samir; N. Molina, Pereyra, Walace, Makengo, Udogie; Deulofeu, Pussetto.

Subs: Padelli, Scuffet, Stryger, De Maio, Zeegelaar, Arslan, Jajalo, Palumbo, Forestieri, Samardzic, Okaka, Cristo.

👉 Here is Napoli vs Venezia preview for the Serie A Week 1 game on Sunday 22 August 2021 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Napoli, Italy at 20:45.

Napoli will host newly-promoted Venezia in their first game of the 2021/22 Serie A season.  Venezia returning to the Serie A after a 19-year absence. Napoli looking for redemption after failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League football ending in the 5th position with 77 points just one point below Juventus in the 4th position with 78 points.    The first action for the revival was sacking Coach Gennaro Gattuso replacing him with Coach Luciano Spalletti.

Napoli  looking for the perfect start, having  the unbeaten record in season openers since 2015  with 4 wins and 1 draw.

Napoli with a boost after defeating in the preparation games defeating 3-0  German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich  and a 4-0 drubbing of Serie B side Pescara in the very last test at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.  The hope in the attack is for Victor Osimhen and Lorenzo Insigne who were both on target on Saturday against Pescara.  Insigne rumors of leaving the team not disappearing.  For the moment, Insigne is the hope for the Partenopei.

Napoli vs Venezia Head-to-head.   These two teams last locked horns in the 2003/04 Serie B season.  For Venezia, a draw or a victory will represent a super boost.  This will be their fifth head to head encounter and Napoli are still searching for their maiden victory over Venezia.  Three of the last four games ended in draws.

Venezia Coach Paolo Zanetti gave a joy to the fans when on the 27  May 2021  guided Venezia back to Serie A winning  2-1 aggregate in the promotion play-off defeating Cittadella.    Question is whether Zanettti had enough time to prepare the team to battle in Serie A.  Surely, this will be his main test.   Venezia reinforcing signing  Mattia Caldara from AC Milan.   Venezia looking to avoid the terrible start of their last Serie A in 2001/02 losing seven of their opening eight away fixtures (D1).
