Italy Head Coach Roberto Macini has called up 29 players for the European Qualifiers  leading to the UEFA EURO 2020 against Finland on Saturday 23 March at the Friuli Stadium and Liechtenstein  on Tuesday 26 March at the Ennio Tardini Stadium.   Players will will meet on Monday 18 March at the Techical Center in Coverciano.  Italy is in Group J: Italy, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Finland, Greece, Armenia, Liechtenstein

  • THE UEFA EURO QUALIFIERS – Here is the situation as reported by UEFA. Qualifying for UEFA EURO 2020 will have 24 finalists. The 55 teams were split into ten groups of five or six. Four of the five groups of five contain one team that has qualified for the UEFA Nations League finals (to be played June 2019). The top two from each group will qualify for the final tournament, determining the first 20 places.

Coach Mancini is sending a clear message that the rebuilding of the New Italian team is on by calling up many young players.  Surely, some of the most experienced players are also among the list like 36 years old Sampdoria forward Fabio Quagliarella who is currently the top scorer of the Serie A up to Week 28 with 21 goals.

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2018-2019 Serie A Week 28 Results / Twenty-eighth Round on Friday 15, Saturday 16, and Sunday 17 March 2019.

Here is the current situation. Juventus continue their dominion unbeaten and every time closer to grab the Scudetto.  However, BAM! Juventus suffering their first game this season having 24 wins, 3 draws, and 1 lost.  Incredible so, Genoa defeated Juventus at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium with a flat 2-0. Really? Yes, my friends. We might say that great Cristiano Ronaldo was not playing because Coach Massimiliano Allegri gave him a resting day. No matter what, It’s a great moment for Juventus who also qualified for the UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals after defeating Atletico de Madrid. Juventus still keeping a wide lead over Napoli in the second position.

Serie A tickets

The 223rd Derby di Milano between AC Milan vs Inter is won by Inter.  Yep, Inter claiming the full bragging rights to rule the City of Milan with a result of 2-3 at the San Siro Stadium.  AC Milan not only lost the Derby, but also lost the 3rd position going back again to the 4th position.

A big flop is for AS Roma losing the away game at the Paolo Mazza Stadium.  SPAL defeated Roma with  2-1.  Another blow is for Fiorentina losing the away game at the Sardegna Arena.  Cagliari defeated Fiorentina with a 2-1.

On the other hand, Sampdoria humiliated Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.  Sampdoria scoring 5 goals against 3 of Sassuolo.  Rocking time for La Samp!

Good moment is also for Bologna dreaming with salvation after defeating Torino at the Olipico di Torino Stadium.  It’s a special victory for Bologna lifting the morale of the team.   Torino going down from the 6th to the 8th position.

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2018-2019 Serie A Week 27 / Twenty-seventh Round on Friday 8, Saturday 9, Sunday 10, and Monday 11 March 2019.

Here is the current situation. Juventus continue their dominion unbeaten and every time closer to grab the Scudetto.  Juventus defeated Udinese at the Allianz Stadium with a poker 4-1.   Juventus reaching  75 points and a positive goal difference of +42.  Juventus have not lost a game this season having 24 wins ad 3 draws.  Udinese remaining with 25 points and a negative goal difference of -14.  The challenge for Juventus is to focus in the Champions League and prepare the match against Atletico Madrid for the Second Leg at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday 12 March.

AC Milan living a dream believing in the Champions League dream for next year.   AC Milan defeated 1-2 Chievo Verona at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.  It’s a sour home defeat for Chievo because they remain in the 20th position and chances for salvation disappearing.

Serie A tickets

Napoli stepping back…. Oh yeah, not  a good day for Napoli on their almost impossible dream to win the Scudetto considering Juventus is on a solo flight not losing a single game.  Sassuolo shocked Napoli by leading with a 1-0 at the Mapei Stadium.  Napoli finally reacted to draw the game for a 1-1 gaining just 1 point each.

The race for the 3rd position is not over.  Inter getting back to the winning path defeating SPAL with a 2-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.  Inter pressing to recover the third position reaching 50 points while AC Milan is holding tight with 51 points.  We might see a change next week ….. who knows?

Good news for AS Roma returning to the winning path.   New Coach Claudio Ranieri made his debut with a victory.  Roma defeated Empoli at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium with a 2-1.  Roma reaching 47 points being -4 points below AC Milan in the 3rd position.

Parma gaining momentum after defeating Genoa at the Ennio Tardini Stadium with a 1-0.   Parma reaching 33 points while Genoa remain with 30 points.
