Italy Head Coach Gian Piero Ventura has called up 25 players for the World Cup Qualifier game Italy vs Albania on Friday 24 March and the International Friendly Netherlands vs Italy on Tuesday 28 March 2017.  There are 3 players receiving their first called ups:  SPAL goalkeeper Alex Meret, Atalanta’s Leonardo Spinazzola and Inter’s Danilo D’Ambrosio.

As reported by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), the team will meet on Sunday 19th March at the Technical Center Coverciano.

  •  Italy vs. Albania at the Stadio Renzo Barbera (following Italy’s 1-0 win in 2014, this will be only the second encounter between the two teams), in what will be the fifth round of European qualifiers in Group G. Meanwhile, Spain (joint-leading the group with Italy on 10 points) will take on Israel, who are positioned in third place and are three points ahead of Albania.  The Azzurri have a positive record in Palermo (13 games played, 11 wins, one draw and only one defeat, which was in 1994 against Croatia).

Atalanta redeeming themselves after losing against Inter last week with a humiliating result of 7-1 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.   Pescara with a cry for help.  It seems the destiny of Pescara is dark winning only 2 games this season.  Relegation to Serie B next season is almost a reality for Pescara.

Atalanta opening the score in the 13th minute.  It is Alejandro Gomez to defeat Pescara goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner.   The assist is by Hans Hateboer with a cross.  It is the 10th goal of the season by Gomez.

The Italian Referee Association (AIA) has designated Referee Carmine Russo from the section of Nola to direct the Serie A Week 29 game AC Milan vs Genoa on Saturday 18 March 2017 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy at 20:45.
