Italian Soccer Serie A

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2019-2020 Serie A Week 2 Results / Second Round on Friday 30, Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September 2019.

The Serie A leader is Inter with 6 points and a positive goal difference of +5.   Inter claiming an away victory defeating Cagliari at the Sardegna Arena.  The only 3 teams winning all 2 games and having 6 points are Inter, Juventus, and Torino.

Serie A tickets

What a thriller at the Allianz Stadium!  Juventus leading with a 3-0 and then a total comeback.  It seemed that Napoli got an energizing waking up to almost win the match putting a brave front to level for the 3-3.  The game, ironically, is won by Juventus with the involuntary help by Napoli defender Koulibaly scoring an own goal for the final 4-3 giving Juventus the victory.

The Derby della Capitale ended with a 1-1 draw. The bragging rights to rule in Rome is divided with Lazio and Roma.  It was not a good result for neither.  Lazio were looking to win the match to get full credits while Roma failing to win their first game this season.  Roma are now under pressure to start climbing the Serie A standing.

The Derby dell’Emilia claiming the full bragging rights is won by Bologna after defeating SPAL.  The emotional derby witnessing the support of the fans to Bologna Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic directing the team while still recovering from Leukemia.

Italian Soccer Serie A

Hello, my friends. Here is the 2019-2020 Serie A Week 2 Preview / Second Round on Friday 30, Saturday 31 August, and Sunday 1 September 2019.

We are now ready for the second round and time for adjustment or the status quo might remai the same.  The big clash is Juventus vs Napoli.   Juventus, the reigning champion, will receive Napoli (second place last season) at the Allianz Stadium.   The big clash seeing the big ex-Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri and ex-player “Gonzalo Higuain.”  Sarri will not be on the bench still recovering and taking his place is Assistant Coach.   Juventus and Napoli won their respective games last week and have 3 points each.

Serie A tickets

Two derbies in this round… Derby dell’Emilia between Bologna vs SPAL.  The second derby is famous “Derby della Capitale”  Lazio vs AS Roma at the Olimpico. Roma will have to boost their performance because another defeat will just be putting the sign for “warning.”  Roma ended with a 3-3 draw against Genoa and will have to challenge themselves to claim the bragging rights to rule Rome or Lazio will continue their winning road.

Italian Soccer Serie A

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2019-2020 Serie A Week 1 Results / First Round on Saturday 24, Sunday 25, and Monday 26 August 2019.  It’s the kickoff of the season and let me tell you that I am so excited with the adventure.  Are you?   Well, we have some surprising results and, by the way, allow me to welcome again the three Serie B teams promoted to the Serie A: Hellas Verona, Lecce, and Brescia.

Sure, the most awaited match was that of Parma vs Juventus.  Why?  Well, Juventus winning 8 consecutive Scudetto, is the reigning Champions of Italy.  To say the truth, I was expecting more goals in this game.  The match ended Parma 0 – 1 Juventus with Captain Giorgio Chiellini scoring for Juventus.  Unfortunately, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal but it was disallowed for offside.

Inter crushing Lecce newly promoted to Serie A.  Inter Coach Antonio Conte making his  debut with the Nerazzurri with this important home victory with a 4-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.  Inter is leading the Serie A with 3 points and a positive goal difference of +4.  Definitely, it is a nightmare for Lecce on their debut with this humiliation.  Anyway, it’s only the first match and everything might change in the next rounds.

The match Fiorentina 3 – 4 Napoli was a real thriller. Wow! BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM!!!!  There were 7 goals in this round.  Fiorentina took the lead, but it was unable to keep the victory.  Napoli overturned the result and grabbed this important away victory.  You bet, we already have a candidate for the Scudetto.

Lazio delighted their fans at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium with a superb performance.  Lazio crushed Sampdoria with a 0 – 3.  It is a flop for Sampdoria.  Definitely, it was a great start of the season for Lazio now leading the Serie A Standing with 3 points and a positive goal difference of 3.  A top match for Lazio forward Ciro Immobile scoring 2 goals and the other one by  Joaquín Correa.

I will give a big flop to AC Milan still struggling to return to their “once glorious past.”  Udinese defeated AC Milan at the Friuli Stadium with 1 goal.   The goal was scored by Rodrigo Becão . Milan not showing signs of improvements compared to last season.  New AC Milan coach Marco Giampaolo made his debut with a defeat.  Let’s not forget that AC Milan objective is to return to the UEFA Champions League.

Good match for newly promoted Serie B team “Brescia.”  Yep. Brescia defeated Cagliari at the Sardegna Arena with  a 0 – 1.  The goal scored by Alfredo Donnarumma converting a penalty.

AS Roma and Genoa ended with a 3 – 3 draw.  It is not a good start for Roma considering they were also playing at home.  Boh! The real test for Roma will be next week when playing the “Derby della Capitale” against Lazio at the Olimpico.  Roma will have to boost their performance because another defeat will just be putting the sign for “warning.”
