Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Torino, 11th position with 31 points and a negative goal difference of -3
Monza, 20th position with 14 points and a negative goal difference of -22

Torino won the Serie A Week 27 match on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy. Torino secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Monza, showcasing their strength on the field. Elmas found the net in the first half, followed by Casadei’s goal in the second. Monza put in a spirited effort but couldn’t pose a significant threat to their rivals. As a result, Nesta’s squad stays at the bottom of the table, while Torino climbs higher.

In the upcoming match, Monza will take on Inter, while Torino is set to face Parma!

Surely, Monza is feeling the heat as they sit at the bottom of the table with just 14 points and are eager to turn their fortunes around. Monza is looking to bounce back after a tough 4-0 loss to Roma, while Torino comes into the game with momentum from a 2-1 win over Milan.

Fun fact: Monza’s inaugural Serie A match took place on August 13, 2022, where they faced Torino. The game ended in a 2-1 win for Torino at the U-Power Stadium, with Miranchuk and Sanabria scoring for the visitors, while Dany Mota netted a goal for Monza.

Torino struck first in the 41st minute when Eljif Elmas netted a right-footed shot to the center, thanks to an assist from Valentino Lazaro. The sequence highlighted a great transition for Torino, with Vlasic skillfully finding Lazaro, who then set up Elmas. Elmas made a well-timed run and finished with composure, beating goalkeeper Stefano Turati.

Monza is facing difficulties. In the 66th minute, Torino extended their lead to 0-2. Cesare Casadei found the net with a right-footed shot into the top right corner. The play was set up nicely by Adams, who delivered a cross into the box. A mishap by Palacios allowed Casadei to capitalize, showcasing his skill in getting into position and finishing the shot. Casadei celebrates his first goal for Torino. Well done!

Stats before the game:

Following their recent win over Milan, Torino has the chance to secure back-to-back victories in Serie A for the first time since last August, when they triumphed over Atalanta and Venezia.

The inaugural Serie A match for Monza took place against Torino on August 13, 2022. The Granata emerged victorious with a score of 2-1 at the U-Power Stadium. The goals were from Miranchuk and Sanabria, while Dany Mota netted one for the Lombard team.

Monza has yet to secure a win in their last five encounters with Torino in Serie A, recording three draws and two losses. They have only faced Roma, Lazio, and Lecce more times without a victory in the top division, with six matches against each.

Notably, they have drawn more games against Lecce (four) than they have against Torino (three) in this competition. In this season, Monza has accumulated 14 points. Historically, only one of the 25 teams that have reached a maximum of 14 points after 26 matches in Serie A has managed to avoid relegation: Crotone, who had 13 points at the same stage in the 2016/17 season.

Monza have not scored in their last two games at the U-Power Stadium in the championship, the Brianza team could remain dry of goals in three home games in a row for the first time in Serie A.

Torino have won only two of their last 10 games against teams that at the start of the day occupied the last position in the Serie A standings (5D, 3L), drawing 0-0 in the most recent one on 4 February 2024 against Salernitana.

No team has received more yellow cards than Monza in Serie A 2024/25: 63, tied with Hellas Verona – in fourth place in this ranking is Torino (56, tied with Udinese).

✅   What’s happening in Round 25?

The battle for the Scudetto is heating up, with Napoli (56), Inter (54), and Atalanta (51) in a tight race!

Lazio and Napoli ended with a draw at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.  What an exciting match packed with goals and surprises! The first half concluded with a 1-1 scoreline, featuring goals from Isaksen and Raspadori. In the second half, Conte’s squad took the lead thanks to an own goal by Marusic. However, in the dying moments, Dia scored a stunning goal to level the score again.  This draw puts Napoli’s top position in jeopardy, as they now sit at 56 points.

What an incredible Derby d’Italia!   Juventus triumphed over Inter at the Allianz Stadium. This win has shaken up the league standings.  Inter, sitting at 54 points, missed the opportunity to surpass Napoli, who leads with 56 points. Meanwhile, Juventus, now at 46 points, has leveled with Lazio, putting them for a Champions League spot. The standout player was Francisco Fernandes da Conceição, who netted the only goal of the match, securing bragging rights for his team.

Atalanta couldn’t secure a victory in their home match against Cagliari, resulting in a 0-0 stalemate. Cagliari walks away with a valuable point, moving up to thirteenth place with 25 points, which is five points clear of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Atalanta, still searching for their first home win of 2025, now sits at 51 points. In their next match, Gasperini’s squad will head to Empoli, while Cagliari will take on Juventus at home.

AC Milan beat Hellas Verona at the iconic San Siro Stadium. Milan reaches 41 points. Their aim is to rise in the standings and secure a spot in the European zone.  This is the second consecutive victory in the championship for the Rossoneri.  Verona remains with 23 points. The result was unlocked in the 75th minute, with Mexican player Santiago Giménez scoring a header on an assist from Rafael Leao.  In the next round of the championship for Milan, an away match on the pitch of Torino, Verona will face Fiorentina at home.

Roma secured a victory against Parma at the Ennio Tardini Stadium. This win boosts Roma’s points to 37, while Parma remains at 20 points, just one point away from escaping the relegation zone. The game was tightly contested, with Soule’s brilliant free kick in the first half proving to be the turning point. Parma struggled after Leali received a red card in the 31st minute, leaving them a man down for more than an hour. As the match drew to a close, Parma made efforts to advance, but the Giallorossi held their ground comfortably.

Bologna beat Torino at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium. Bologna and Torino delivered a thrilling and explosive match that kept everyone on the edge of their seats! Both teams played openly, showcasing their skills and entertaining the crowd. The home side emerged victorious with a last-minute own goal by Biraghi, which was influenced by Castro’s shot. Ndoye shone with a brace, and Elmas scored a breathtaking goal in the match.  In the next round, Bologna will be up against Parma, and Torino will challenge Milan.

Udinese triumphed with a commanding 3-0 victory over Empoli. This win boosts Udinese to 33 points, securing their 10th place in the standings. Meanwhile, Empoli’s struggles continue, marking their 10th consecutive game without a win, consisting of 2 draws and 8 losses, leaving them stuck at 21 points in 17th place as they await the outcome of the Parma-Roma match.

Incredible! Como pulled off a surprise by defeating Fiorentina 2-0 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium. This away victory is a significant achievement for Como, especially with goals from Diao and Nico Paz. Fiorentina faced a tough loss at home, marking their second consecutive defeat in the league. With this win, Como has moved further away from the relegation zone, now sitting five points clear of the third-last position. They had only managed to secure one victory in 2025 prior to this match.  Meanwhile, Fiorentina has seen a dip in form with these back-to-back losses. They were close to reaching the 4th place, which is crucial for Champions League qualification, but could find themselves four points behind Juventus if they lose to Inter this evening.

Monza finally gets back on the scoreboard after suffering four straight losses, narrowing the gap to the safety zone to just seven points, thanks to Empoli’s defeat against Udinese. They now find themselves level with Como and Cagliari in thirteenth place. Meanwhile, Lecce has moved five points clear of third-from-bottom Parma, who are set to face Roma soon.

Lecce, 14th position with 24 points and a negative goal difference of -23
Monza, 20th position with 13 points and a negative goal difference of -18

Monza and Lecce ended the Serie A Week 25 with a goalless draw on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy.  It’s one point for each.

The match at the U-Power Stadium was lacking in goals and excitement, starting with Helgason’s free kick that struck the crossbar. Lecce posed a threat with Pierotti’s header that went over the bar and Krstovic’s volley, which was saved by Turati. Monza made their presence felt towards the end of the first half with Pereira’s counter-attack, but his shot went wide from a promising position.

The second half was uneventful until the 71st minute, when Falcone had to make a spectacular save from a curling shot by substitute Caprari. Lecce tried to respond with attempts from Helgason and Pierotti, but Turati was on form, ensuring the match ended in a goalless draw.

✅ Stats before the game:

Lecce remains unbeaten in their last five Serie A encounters with Monza, boasting two wins and three draws. Among all the teams they have faced, Monza is the one against which Lecce has played the most matches without a loss, tied with Venezia, who also has five encounters.

In four out of their five Serie A games, both Monza and Lecce have managed to score. The only exception was on May 28, 2023.  It was during their inaugural match at the U-Power Stadium, where Monza was unable to find the net, resulting in a 0-1 defeat.

Monza has faced a tough season, losing 15 out of 24 matches, which matches the dismal record of Hellas Verona. This marks the highest number of defeats Monza has ever experienced in a single Serie A season, equaling their 15 losses from the 2023/24 season over 38 matchdays.

Buy Serie A tickets for every Italian League football game

No team in the top five European leagues has recorded fewer wins this season than Monza, who have managed just two victories, tied with Southampton and Bochum.

In their latest league match, Lecce played to a 0-0 draw against Bologna. If they manage to draw again, it will mark the first time since last September that they have had back-to-back draws in Serie A, when they faced Torino and Parma. Additionally, the last time Lecce achieved two consecutive clean sheets in the league was between August and September 2024, against Cagliari and Torino.

Following their recent victory over Parma in an away match, Lecce has the chance to secure two consecutive away wins in Serie A for the first time since February 2023, when they triumphed over Cremonese and Atalanta.

✅   What’s happening in Round 24?

The battle for the Scudetto is heating up, with Napoli and Inter in a tight race!

Inter secured a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina, closing the gap to just 1 point behind Napoli, who has 54 points. The scoring kicked off in the 28th minute when Marin Pongracic accidentally put one in his own net from a corner. Rolando Mandragora brought Fiorentina level with a penalty in the 44th minute, but Marko Arnautovic sealed the win for Inter with a header in the 52nd minute, assisted by Carlos Augusto. Looking ahead, Inter will take on Juventus away, while Fiorentina will host Como.

What a letdown for Napoli!  Their goal was to secure a victory against Udinese at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. However, Udinese put up a valiant effort and managed to hold Napoli to a 1-1 draw. Napoli now sits at 55 points, closely followed by Inter with 51 points, who will face Fiorentina on Monday. Udinese has reached 30 points. This was certainly a missed chance for Conte’s squad, as they couldn’t extend their lead at the top of the table. The Friulians showcased their determination, coming to Maradona ready to compete and earn points.

AC Milan secured a victory against Empoli at the Carlo Castellani Stadium. This loss is particularly hard for Empoli as they inch closer to the relegation zone. For Milan, this marks their second consecutive win across both the Coppa Italia and Serie A, allowing them to rise to seventh place, temporarily surpassing Bologna, who will be facing Lecce tomorrow. They are now just five points behind fourth-placed Juventus, with a game in hand, while keeping an eye on Lazio and Fiorentina, who could potentially move ahead of Juventus in the standings.  A noteworthy highlight: Santiago Giménez has made history as the first Mexican player to score for AC Milan.

👉 🇮🇹  I encourage you to check out this post and click on the links for real-time Serie A stats, lineups, Standings, and more.

Juventus secured a 2-1 victory over Como, thanks to a standout performance from Kolo Muani, who netted both goals for his team. He started strong with an impressive strike and later sealed the win with a penalty. Como put up a good fight, scoring through Diao, but ultimately faltered after a blunder by Juventus goalkeeper Butez. This narrow win helps Juventus climb the standings. In their next match, Juventus will take on Inter, while Como is set to face Fiorentina.

Lazio crushed  AC Monza with an astonishing 5-1 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium. Lazio celebrates a home victory, climbing back to fourth place with 45 points. Meanwhile, Monza remains at the bottom of the table with just 13 points. The match saw Lazio take control early, with Marusic. In the second half, Pedro added two more goals, while Castellanos and Dele Bashiru contributed to the final score. Monza managed to score a consolation goal through Sensi’s penalty.  Monza is feeling the heat as they find themselves at the bottom of the standings and need to start winning soon. The threat of relegation to Serie B looms large for them next season.

Atalanta delivered a stunning performance against Verona at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium. They dominated the game, winning 5-0 without allowing any goals from their opponents. The standout player was forward Mateo Retegui, who netted an incredible four goals, reinforcing his position as the league’s top scorer with a total of 20 goals. With this victory, Atalanta has increased their lead over Juventus to +7.

Venezia beaten by AS Roma at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium. Roma celebrated a 1-0 victory over Venezia, marking their eighth consecutive positive result under Claudio Ranieri. The match was decided by a penalty from Paulo Dybala in the 57th minute. With this win, Roma sits in ninth place in the standings with 34 points, trailing Juventus, who currently holds the fourth spot, by 7 points. The battle for European qualification is still on. Venezia finds itself second to last, 5 points behind Cagliari and Empoli, who are just above the relegation zone.

Cagliari defeated Parma at the Unipol Domus with a 2-1.  The Sardinians are making significant progress in the standings, now sitting at 24 points and pulling away from Parma, who is in the relegation zone with just 20 points.  Cagliari secured a crucial win, highlighted by an own goal from Alessandro Vogliacco and a debut goal from Florinel Coman. Meanwhile, Parma’s struggles persist as they remain winless in 2025, with Giovanni Leoni’s goal not enough to change their fortunes.  Looking ahead, the next matches feature Atalanta facing Cagliari and Parma going up against Roma.

Torino and Genoa ended the Serie A Week 24 game with a 1-1 draw on Saturday 8 February 2025 at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy. A point each that is good for Torino and Genoa who are increasingly distancing themselves from Lecce, Verona and Como. Their distance in the standings remains unchanged with the Granata always one point more than Vieira’s team. While waiting for the match against Napoli, Torino is now approaching Udinese at +1.

Lecce and Bologna failed to win at the Via del Mare Stadium. The match ended 0-0.  Bologna is currently level with Milan, both sitting at 38 points. Their upcoming match on February 26th will feel like a playoff showdown. Next, Bologna will take on Torino in the Serie A. Meanwhile, Lecce holds steady in 14th place, now tied with Cagliari at 24 points. They nearly scored three times in the first half but were thwarted by Skorupski’s impressive goalkeeping. Bologna had a late opportunity to score during injury time, but Falcone managed to stop Dallinga’s header in the 95th minute. In the next round, Bologna will face Monza, who are at the bottom of the table. Monza
