SHAVE YOUR STYLE IN ROME

Milan Foundation and Braun are in the Italian capital for the Shave your Style – #rispettailmiostile campaign.

MILAN – The Shave your Style – #rispettailmiostile, organized by Milan Foundation and Braun moves to Rome today for the second appointment. After the success in Milan, where Paolo Maldini and Javier Zanetti have met 200 high school students, telling them of their experience in terms of respect and leadership, on and off the field, the capital will get the same treatment.

Today it is Pasquale Gravina, currently President of the Volley Treviso and fencer Paolo Pizzo, World Champion in 2011 and European runner-up. Through this project Milan Foundation and Braun intend to contribute to social progress by acting on a very topical issue: the difficulties that so many teenagers seem to have in self-esteem and to establish correct relationships. The goal is to promote the values of mutual respect and encourage the kids to recognize and appreciate the style of the other.

The project promotes mutual respect among adolescents, secondary school students in the cities of Milan, Rome, Como, Verona, Palermo and Naples, with a series of proposals for activities that aim to bring out the personal style , understood as awareness of their identity and positive use of their abilities in a logic of integration of the differences.

MILAN FOUNDATION IN SARDINIA

A recent initiative in Sardinia, sponsored by the Region of Sardinia, was an opportunity for institutions from the tertiary sector to present publicly some of their social inclusion programs that are in place in the province of Nuoro. Particular attention was paid to the collaboration between the Milan Foundation and the Baronia Verde Social Cooperative, a type B cooperative aimed at helping young people with disabilities. Following the major floods that affected Sardinia during the month of November 2013, the Milan Foundation made a strong commitment to help those people affected by them. The Milan Foundation therefore looked for initiatives capable of responding in a continuous manner to the needs of the land and utilising the local resources. For this reason, the Milan Foundation decided to support the renovation of a greenhouse/lab with the purpose of training activities aimed at helping those who had dropped out of formal education and providing them with a training area but also one for socio-cultural needs, guidance and even employment. For instance, among the activities there is the sale of vegetables, flowers and plants, together with the maintenance of green areas (public and private), with the aim of giving continuity and self-financing the initiative in its entirety. With this project, the Milan Foundation confirms its commitment and interest to the support of all those projects that promote social inclusion, understood as a process of accompanying and supporting developments that lead to an increase in inter-personal relationships, meaningful relationships, involvement in activities that respond to personal wishes and goals. In addition to several local authorities, the Secretary General of the Milan Foundation Rocco Giorgianni was also present.

MOVING WELL AND GROWING

Recipients of this project are the children of the elementary schools in Naples.
Councilor of Education Annamaria Palmieri in the press conference to present the project, said: “Unfortunately, often schools are not in condition to practice physical education with the necessary space and Naples has a problem considering that we have the highest rate of childhood obesity. The synergy with the private sector helps us to provide schools, especially in those areas where families cannot afford an additional fee while taking part in sport also provides an education.”
The project 'Moving well to grow better', is a national initiative created and organized by the Milan Foundation and will involve a number primary schools in Naples.
Here SSDE instructors will train physical education teachers for three months and they will also be 'offered' 80 hours of physical education in the gym. “The purpose of the Milan Foundation,” said Gianfranco Parma to the Milan Academy, “is promoting projects related to the development and education in primary schools forming and collaborating with teachers with the goal of building an educational alliance to create a different sports culture.”
The project 'Eat right move with taste', however, stems from research conducted on a sample of 50 boys aged between 10 and 15 years whose eating habits were studied. Research has shown that people who are overweight, who modified their diet, had a '' significant '' weight loss after three months of treatment, whereas in normal weight subjects, there were no changes. ''This way of working,” - highlighted the Councillor for Sports Ciro Borriello, it is something we follow to the maximum because similar experiences are increasingly present in the city and particularly in the suburbs.” The presentation was also attended by SSDE president Mario Del Verme who stressed that as these projects ''will come down in the real needs of the children. In schools there is need to educate the motor skills activities.”

BARESI AND SHAVE YOUR STYLE

MILAN – Braun and the Milan Foundation have joined forces as part of a project for young people aimed at making them more aware of the importance of respect towards others and the styles that characterise them, where style is not only an aesthetic code but also a way of life, of being and of presenting oneself. The project is called Shave your style #rispettailmiostile and it also calls upon the participation and support of famous figures from AC Milan. After Paolo Maldini, the latest to play his part is none other than another legendary club captain: Franco Baresi. The Italian will in fact be at the Trony Building in via Torino, Milan at 18.00 on Thursday the 17th of December to lend his support to the Shave your style #rispettailmiostile project. The former Milan captain will talk about his experiences of respect from his life and out on the playing field and how respect towards different styles, talents, race and teams is the starting point for a positive form of leadership. At the end of the meeting, Franco Baresi will also be on hand to sign autographs, pose for photos and to interact with all those present. The involvement of a figure like Franco Baresi, with all his experience on and off the field, is a real boost to the Shave your style #rispettailmiostile project and embodies the perfect role model for young people.Often and all too frequently, young people are the culprits or victims of physical and psychological violence caused by the lack of respect or from prejudice towards others who may have a different style. The Shave your style #rispettailmiostile is a campaign that involves teachers, students and coaches from the Soccer Schools with the aim of reaching out to thousands of young people. The idea is to promote mutual respect and to make these young people appreciate the style that distinguishes others, a necessary part of life for social integration both in the workplace but also in school and on the field of play.Through Shave your style #rispettailmiostile, Braun hopes to donate 100.000 euro through offers, the aid of consumers on social media and an initiative in shops that started on October 15th 2014 and runs through to 30th June 2015. For every Braun shaver bought, Braun will donate 1 euro.Even fans of the Italian P&G Facebook page can contribute to the project. All that is needed is to share the video that P&G will post on the page by using the hashtag #rispettailmiostile on the social media.
