The Italian Referee Association (AIA) has designated Referee Nicola Rizzoli to direct the Serie A Week 37 game Lazio vs AS Roma on Monday 25 May 2015 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy at 20:45.  Rizzoli  will be assisted by Elenito Di Liberatore and Nicola Nicoletti,  and fourth official Renato Faverani.

Hello, hello, hello, and super good morning!    Here are the front pages from Italy main Sports newspapers La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport, and Tutto Sport from Thursday 21 May 2015.

Allow me to congratulate all Juventus fans.  Headlines today confirming  the great accomplishment.  Juventus winning their 10th Coppa Italia after defeating Lazio at the Olimpico Stadium with a 2-1 thanks to the goal by forward Alessandro Matri.   Agree with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus just grabbing everything .  Out of the 3 available titles, Juventus already winning two:  Scudetto and Coppa Italia, now going for the third one which is the Champions League Final.    Juventus waited 20 years to win the Coppa Italia, so it’s just a whole day party time.

I must tell you that the headline grabbing my attention is about Coach Carlo Ancelotti … according to La Gazzetta the deal  to get Ancelotti back to AC Milan is almost a possible fact.   You bet I am more than happy and the first one to support the move!.. oh yeahhhhh big time.  Apparently, Real Madrid are not really happy with Ancelotti after losing Spain’s La Liga title and eliminated in Champions League.  I think Ancelotti is the only coach to revive this poor Milan to their past glorious days.

Headlines also for the ex AC Milan Captain Paolo Maldini buying a soccer team in the United States. Yep, my friends, Maldini buying Miami FC  team in the North American Soccer League (NASL)  which is the  second tier competition in the United States, below the Major League Soccer.

Undountedly, it is a good year for Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.   Not only Allegri winning the Scudetto with 4 games to spare, but  winning also the Coppa Italia  on Wednesday 20 May 2015 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium defeating Lazio. Juventus 2 – 1 Lazio..  It’s a special victory because this is Juventus  10th Coppa Italia.   Simply put, my friends, the treble could be a reality if Juventus defeat Barcelona in the Champions League Final.

On winning the Coppa Italia, Allegri saying, “It wasn’t easy to do the league and cup double. Now we’ll see what the next final has in store for us. ”

Allegri giving credit to their opponent, “Lazio were superb, they really are in fine fettle. They were a tad unlucky too, but as we all know moments turn matches in football. Before they hit both posts we had chances of our own.”

Allegri also acknowledging his players,  “All the lads did brilliantly. It wasn’t an easy game. Lazio made a strong start then we came into it more in the second half.  Going all the way in three competitions as we have is no simple task. We put in a magnificent performance tonight. The players were fantastic.”

A defender becoming a forward….  Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini scoring the equalizer goal in the 11th minute after Lazio defender Stefan Radu opened the score in the 4th minute.  Juventus winning  their 10th Coppa Italia on Wednesday 20 May 2015 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium defeating Lazio.  Juventus 2 – 1 Lazio.

 

Chiellini saying, “We put in a brilliant performance against a side on good form that caused us problems.  We knew that coming in, we imagined it would be tough but we fought and stayed together throughout. Plus we’ve got players who can turn games in an instant.  We always find our own motivation, that drive to win and push our boundaries.  We’d waited 20 years for this, we wanted it and deserved it and Berlin is still some way off. We’ll celebrate winning this.”

What a day for Juventus forward Alessandro Matri scoring the winner goal to give Juventus their 10th Coppa Italia on Wednesday 20 May 2015 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium defeating Lazio.  Juventus 2 – 1 Lazio.

A joyful Matri who won’t mind getting a yellow card after removing his shirt to celebrate the winner goal.  A joy shared by millions of Juventus fans worldwide especially those at the Stadium.

Matri saying, “Obviously it feels amazing for me personally but regardless of that it’s fantastic to win our 10th Coppa.  A feature of our play is that we’re always ready – to a man – even if we only play 10 minutes. We’ve always got a huge will to win, we’re naturally very driven.”

Matri adding that “This Coppa is a reward for the hard work we’ve put in over the last year. Now we’re in the right frame of mind to prepare for the final in Berlin.   Barcelona are in our sights, we know we’re a good side and we’ll approach the game with hope and a great desire to win it.”

Matri scored the winner goal in the 97th minute.   Matri came as a substitute in the 84th minute replacing forward Fernando Llorente.  What a good move by coach Massimiliano Allegri.  Congrats Matri.
