The UEFA Euro 2020 European football championship  starts on 11 June 2021 with the inaugural match of the Olympic stadium in Rome Turkey-Italy.    The Serie A and Serie B presence will be felt as there are a total of 71 players  called up for the competition by their respective national teams.

  • The most represented national team is Italy with 22 players called up from our championship, followed by Denmark and Poland (7 called up) and Croatia (5 called up).

Slovakia win the UEFA Euro 2020 Group E match against Poland on Monday 14 June 2021 at the Saint Petersbug Stadium in Russia.   Poland remaining with 10 players since the 62nd minute after Grzegorz Krychowiak got a red card. The winner goal for Slovakia is scored by Inter defender Milan Skriniar in the 69th minute.   On Matchday 2, Friday 18 June, Slovakia will face Sweden in Russia and Poland on Saturday 19 June will face Spain.   On a bad note, the own goal for Slovakia was scored by Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Congrats to ex-Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik making his 127th appearance for Slovakia National team.

Slovakia opening the score in the 18th minute with the own goal by Poland and Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. Wow, a tough intervention ending with the own goal.

Poland equalizing for the 1-1 thanks to Torino midfielder Karol Linetty defeating Slovakia goalkeeper Szczesny with a left footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Maciej Rybus. This is Linetty’s third goal for Poland team.

Slovakia taking the lead in the 69th minute. Inter defender Milan Skriniar scoring with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by the ex-Napoli player Marek Hamsik with a headed pass following a corner conceded by Maciej Rybus.
